''Because I'm Awesome'' is the second studio album by the American punk band The Dollyrots. It was released on March 13, 2007 on Blackheart Records. Tracks featured in TV shows include "Because I'm Awesome", featured on ''Ugly Betty'' and "Watch Me Go (Kissed Me, Killed Me)", featured on ''The Simple Life''. The song "Because I'm Awesome" was also featured in a back-to-school commercial for Kohl's department store as well as the 2008 film ''The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2''. The band performed "Because I'm Awesome" on an episode of ''Greek (TV series), Greek'' as well. Reception Rick Anderson on Allmusic rated the album four stars out of five. The Dollyrots
The Dollyrots are an American punk rock band formed in 2000, composed of Kelly Ogden (bass, lead vocals) and Luis Cabezas (guitars, backing vocals). They have released nine studio albums under Panic Button Records, Panic Button (part of Lookout Records, Lookout! Records), Joan Jett's Blackheart Records, Little Steven's Wicked Cool Records, their own label, Arrested Youth Records and currently Wicked Cool Records. Biography Formation Bassist/lead vocalist Kelly Ogden and guitarist Luis Cabezas have known each other since meeting in the eighth grade in Land o' Lakes, Florida. They both attended New College of Florida where they formed a band called No Chef with friends Josh Harrold and Mike Benbow. ''Greek'' (stylized as ''GRΣΣK'') is an American comedy-drama television series that aired on Freeform (TV channel), ABC Family from July 9, 2007, to March 7, 2011. The series follows students of the fictitious Cyprus-Rhodes University (CRU), located in Ohio, who participate in the school's Fraternities and sororities, Greek system. Christopher Mario Testa (born March 8, 1973) is an American producer, mixer, engineer, re-recording mixer, sound designer and musician. He was born in Florham Park, NJ. Melanie Anne Safka Schekeryk (February 3, 1947 – January 23, 2024), professionally known as Melanie or Melanie Safka, was an American singer-songwriter.
