Beach Volleyball At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Men's Tournament
The men's beach volleyball tournament at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, took place at the Shiokaze Park. The competition was held from 24 July to 7 August 2021. It was originally scheduled to take place from 25 July to 8 August 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the IOC and the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee announced on 24 March 2020 that the 2020 Summer Olympics would be delayed to 2021. Because of this pandemic, the games were played behind closed doors. Twenty four teams with 48 athletes around the world competed for the gold medal. Anders Mol and Christian Sørum captured the gold medal after defeating Viacheslav Krasilnikov and Oleg Stoyanovskiy in the final, while Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan took home bronze. The medals for the competition were presented by  Kristin Kloster Aasen, Norway; IOC Member, and the medalists' bouquets were presented by Ary Graça, Brazil; FIVB President. Shiokaze Park is a public park and was a temporary beach volleyball sport venue for the 2020 Summer Olympics, located in Tokyo, Japan. History Shiokaze Park opened on June 1, 1974. Esteban Mauricio Grimalt Fuster (born 9 January 1991) is a Chilean Olympic beach volleyball player. His greatest achievements are Gold in the South American Circut of Viña del Mar 2009, Gold in the Continental Tour Paraguay 2013, Gold in Continental Tour Bolivia 2013, Gold in Continental Tour Perú 2014, and Silver in the 2014 South American Games. Marco Grimalt
Marco Alfonso Grimalt Krogh (born 11 July 1989) is a beach volleyball player representing the Chilean national volleyball team. He has participated in the Pan American Games in 2011, 2015, 2019, and 2023, as well as the South American Games in 2010 and 2014. He represented Chile at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Teaming up with his cousin Esteban Grimalt, he clinched the gold medal at the 2019 Pan American Games and was honored with the National Sports Award in 2022. Career Grimalt was born in Queilén, Chiloé, but grew up in Linares, Maule Region. His passion for volleyball developed early, influenced by his father and several relatives who played the sport. Bruno Oscar Schmidt (born 6 October 1986) is a Brazilian beach volleyball player . Bruno is the nephew of the former Brazilian basketball player Oscar Schmidt and of the TV news announcer Tadeu Schmidt. In 2010, he was named the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Most Improved Player. He was also named the Best Defensive Player in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. Evandro Gonçalves de Oliveira Junior (born 17 July 1990) is a Brazilian beach volleyball player. Oliveira competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in the men's beach volleyball tournament along with his partner Pedro Solberg, falling in the quarterfinals. Damien Schumann (born 12 November 1987) is a male beach volleyball player from Australia. He represented Australia at the 2018 Commonwealth Games at the Gold Coast and the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, both with teammate Chris McHugh, winning the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games. Christopher McHugh (born 31 August 1989) is a male beach volleyball player from Australia.
