Baía Do Inferno
Baía do Inferno (Portuguese for "bay of hell", also: ''Baía de Santa Clara'') is a bay on the southwest coast of the island of Santiago, Cape Verde, Santiago in Cape Verde in the Atlantic Ocean. The bay is completely within the municipality of Santa Catarina, Cape Verde, Santa Catarina. It is a large and relatively sheltered bay, characterised by steep cliffs, more than 400 m high in some places. The nearest settlement is Santa Catarina, Cape Verde, Entre Picos de Reda, 3 km inland. Rincão, Cape Verde, Rincão lies 4 km north along the coast, Porto Mosquito 6 km southeast. Wildlife The bay forms a part of the Important Bird Area "Coastal cliffs between Porto Mosquito and Baia do Inferno", which covers 160 ha and about 8 km of coastline. The site has been identified as an IBA by BirdLife International because the cliffs support 25–30 breeding pairs of red-billed tropicbirds. Rincão is a municipality in the state of São Paulo in Brazil. The population is 10,812 (2020 est.) in an area of 317 km2. The elevation is 530 m. History The municipality was created by state law in 1948. Media In telecommunications, the city was served by Companhia Telefônica Brasileira until 1973, when it began to be served by Telecomunicações de São Paulo. An Important Bird and Biodiversity Area (IBA) is an area identified using an internationally agreed set of criteria as being globally important for the conservation of bird populations. IBA was developed and sites are identified by BirdLife International. There are over 13,000 IBAs worldwide. Red-billed Tropicbird
The red-billed tropicbird (''Phaethon aethereus'') is a tropicbird, one of three closely related species of seabird of tropical oceans. Superficially resembling a tern in appearance, it has mostly white plumage with some black markings on the wings and back, a black mask and, as its common name suggests, a red bill. Most adults have that are about two times their body length, with those in males being generally longer than those in females. The red-billed tropicbird itself has three subspecies recognized, including the nominate. The subspecies ''mesonauta'' is distinguished from the nominate by the rosy tinge of its fresh plumage, and the subspecies ''indicus'' can be differentiated by its smaller size, more restricted mask, and more orange bill. Brown Booby
The brown booby (''Sula leucogaster'') is a large seabird of the booby family Sulidae, of which it is perhaps the most common and widespread species. It has a pantropical range, which overlaps with that of other booby species. The gregarious brown booby commutes and forages at low height over inshore waters. Flocks plunge-dive to take small fish, especially when these are driven near the surface by their predators. They nest only on the ground, and roost on solid objects rather than the water surface. Taxonomy The brown booby was described by the French polymath Georges-Louis Leclerc, Comte de Buffon in his ''Histoire Naturelle des Oiseaux'' in 1781.
