Bay Ridge–95th Street Station
The Bay Ridge–95th Street station (originally 95th Street–Fort Hamilton) is the southern terminal station on the BMT Fourth Avenue Line of the New York City Subway. Despite the name, the station is located in the neighborhood of Fort Hamilton, Brooklyn, Fort Hamilton (as its original name implied) at the intersection of 95th Street and Fourth Avenue in southwestern Brooklyn. It is served by the R (New York City Subway service), R train at all times. Geographically, this station is the westernmost New York City Subway station. The station was first planned in 1922 as the first part of an extension to Staten Island through Staten Island Tunnel, a tunnel under the Narrows. Construction began on December 17, 1923, after the construction contractor submitted, withdrew, and resubmitted its bid. 45th Street Station (BMT Fourth Avenue Line)
The 45th Street station is a local station on the BMT Fourth Avenue Line of the New York City Subway. Located at 45th Street and Fourth Avenue in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, it is served by the R train at all times. The N train also stops here during late nights, and some rush-hour W trains stop here in the peak direction. The 45th Street station was constructed as part of the Fourth Avenue Line, which was approved in 1905. Construction on the segment of the line that includes 45th Street started on March 15, 1913, and was completed in 1915. South Beach Branch (Staten Island Railway)
The South Beach Branch, also called the East Shore Sub-Division, is an abandoned branch of the Staten Island Railway in New York City, which operated along Staten Island's East Shore from Clifton to Wentworth Avenue. This double-tracked branch left the Main Line at , south of the Clifton station, and lay to the east of the Main Line. Rapid transit service on the South Beach Branch and the North Shore Branch ended on March 31, 1953. History The East Shore branch opened on January 1, 1888, to Arrochar, and was extended to South Beach sometime after September 1888, when it was proposed to extend the line. The Staten Island Railway (SIR) is a rapid transit, railroad line in the New York City borough (New York City), borough of Staten Island. It is owned by the Staten Island Rapid Transit Operating Authority (SIRTOA), a subsidiary of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and operated by the New York City Transit Authority Department of Subways.
