Battle Of Yavin
The Battle of Yavin takes place in the fictional universe of ''Star Wars''. It pits the Galactic Empire against the Rebel Alliance around the gas giant Yavin and its fourth moon. This fictional battle serves as an official epoch for the in-universe dating system. All ''Star Wars'' dates are generally given in the format: Before the Battle of Yavin/After the Battle of Yavin (BBY/ABY). In the preceding Battle of Scarif, the rebels managed to steal the plans for the Death Star, a gigantic Imperial battle station equipped with superweapon capable of destroying planets. However, the Empire has discovered the location of the rebel base on Yavin 4 and intends to destroy it using its new weapon. The Death Star has a covertly engineered vulnerability that the rebels have discovered. When it is in orbit around Yavin, the rebels send all their ships in a desperate attack to destroy it. This leads to a battle with Imperial fighters commanded by Darth Vader. Using the Force, Luke Skywalke ...

Galactic Civil War
The Galactic Empire, also known simply as the Empire, is a fictional autocracy featured in the ''Star Wars'' franchise. Introduced in the 1977 film ''Star Wars,'' it is the main antagonistic faction of the original trilogy, which also includes ''The Empire Strikes Back'' (1980) and ''Return of the Jedi'' (1983). An oppressive dictatorship with a complicated bureaucracy, the Galactic Empire seeks the rule and social control of every planet and civilization within the galaxy, based on anthropocentrism, nationalisation, state terrorism, power projection, and threat of lethal force. The Galactic Empire's rise was not a violent takeover by force, but rather a calculated ''gleichschaltung''-like dismantling of the galaxy's most powerful institutions by rewriting constitutional foundations, controlling the Jedi Council, weakening the Senate and the appointment of loyal Governors. At its peak, the Galactic Empire sprawls over much of the known ''Star Wars'' galaxy, which consists of mi ...

The Force
The Force is a Metaphysics, metaphysical, mysterious, and Energy (esotericism), ubiquitous power in the ''Star Wars'' Universe of Star Wars, fictional universe. Heroes like the Jedi, a peacekeeping group of warrior-monks, largely seek to "become one with the Force", matching their personal wills with the will of the Force. This is evidenced by their ability to channel its powers, which they do towards selfless goals. Meanwhile, the Sith and other villains try to bend the additional abilities gained through the Force toward their own selfish and destructive desires. Throughout the franchise, this distinction is referred as the light side versus the ...

The Clone Wars, also known as the Separatist Crisis, is a fictional three-year conflict in the ''Star Wars'' franchise by George Lucas. They have featured in numerous ''Star Wars'' books, comics and games. Sith
The Sith are the main antagonists in the fictional universe of the ''Star Wars'' franchise. They are the antithesis and ancient enemies of the Jedi. The Sith Order is depicted as an ancient cult of warriors who draw strength from the dark side of the Force and use it to seize power by any means necessary, including terrorism and mass murder; their ultimate goals are to destroy the Jedi and rule the galaxy. The various antagonistic factions in the franchise, namely the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Galactic Empire, the Imperial Remnant, and the First Order, all originated with the Sith. Sith, known individually as Sith Lords, are, by nature, ruthless. At any point a single individual assumes absolute authority amongst their kind and is granted the honorific Dark Lord of the Sith. Sith culture is based on perpetual treachery and betrayal. The fate of Sith Lords is, typically, to be murdered and replaced by their own apprentices. Sith teach their apprentices to rever ...

Dueling Lightsabers
A duel is an arranged engagement in combat between two people with matched weapons. During the 17th and 18th centuries (and earlier), duels were mostly single combats fought with swords (the rapier and later the small sword), but beginning in the late 18th century in England, duels were more commonly fought using pistols. Fencing and shooting continued to coexist throughout the 19th century. The duel was based on a code of honor. Duels were fought not to kill the opponent but to gain "satisfaction", that is, to restore one's honor by demonstrating a willingness to risk one's life for it. As such, the tradition of dueling was reserved for the male members of nobility; however, in the modern era, it extended to those of the upper classes. On occasion, duels with swords or pistols were fought between women. Legislation against dueling dates back to the medieval period. The Fourth Council of the Lateran (1215) outlawed duels and civil legislation in the Holy Roman Empire against d ...
