Battle Of Olómpali
The Battle of Olómpali was fought on June 24, 1846, between a rebel group supporting an independent California Republic and a Mexican army force under the command of Joaquín de la Torre. It was the only battle of the Bear Flag Revolt. The encounter took place in present-day Marin County, California at a site that is now part of the Olompali State Historic Park. Rancho Laguna De San Antonio
Rancho Laguna de San Antonio was a Mexican land grant in present-day Marin County and Sonoma County, California given in 1845 by Governor Pío Pico to Bartolomé Bojorquez. The grant encompassed Chileno Creek and Laguna Lake. History Bartolomé Bojórquez (1780–1863) was the son of Pedro Antonio Bojorques, who came to California with the De Anza Expedition. In 1803, Bartolomé married Maria Nicolasa Linares (1784–1869) and they had 7 children (2 male and 5 female). Bojorquez, a soldier serving at the Presidio of San Francisco, was granted the six-square-league Rancho Laguna de San Antonio in 1845. Two Rock, California
Two Rock is an unincorporated community in Sonoma County, California, United States. It is located on Stemple Creek in a rural area west of Petaluma. A hill named Dos Piedras (Spanish for "two rocks", above sea level) overlooks the community from the north. The community is named for the two rocks, between which the Mexican trail from San Rafael to Bodega passed. Two Rock had a post office located at the intersection of Bloomfield and Tomales Road, as well as a school 1.3 miles west of the former post office, on Tomales Road. A new school has since been built further east, but the original school building still stands. The main road is Valley Ford Road, which passes northwest–southeast through Two Rock. Healdsburg is a city located in Sonoma County, California, United States. At the 2020 census, the city had a population of 11,340. Healdsburg is centered on a 19th-century plaza. History Early inhabitants of the local area included the Pomo people, who constructed villages in open areas along the Russian River. Camilo Ynitia (alternative spelling "Camillo"; original native name transliterated as "Hueñux") was born in about 1803, in Marin County, southern Marin, of the Huiman tribe near Sausalito. The family likely traveled up to Olompali, where his father had built an adobe brick home. Camilo was a leader of the Coast Miwok. Camilo was known as the last ''Hoipu'' (headman) of the Miwok community living at Olompali and the Coast Miwoks of the Southern Marin Band.Seif, 2006. Coast Miwok
The Coast Miwok are an Indigenous people of California that were the second-largest tribe of the Miwok people. Coast Miwok inhabited the general area of present-day Marin County and southern Sonoma County in Northern California, from the Golden Gate north to Duncans Point and eastward to Sonoma Creek.
