Basque Nationalist Party
The Basque Nationalist Party ( , EAJ; , PNV; , PNB; EAJ-PNV), officially the Basque National Party in English, is a Basque nationalist and regionalist political party. The party is located in the centre of the political spectrum. It has been described as Christian democratic, with social democratic and conservative-liberal factions. The EAJ-PNV was founded by Sabino Arana in 1895, which makes it the second oldest extant political party in Spain, after the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE). The EAJ-PNV is the largest Basque nationalist party, having led the Basque Government uninterruptedly since 1979, except for a brief period between 2009 and 2012. In Navarre, it is part of the coalition Geroa Bai, which is currently a junior partner of the PSOE in the Navarrese regional government. Aitor Esteban
Aitor Esteban Bravo (born 21 June 1962) is a Spaniards, Spanish jurist and politician. He is the president of the Basque Nationalist Party since March 2025 and was from 2012 to 2025 the party's Board of Spokespersons, Spokesperson in the Congress of Deputies. Biography Esteban's mother is from the Province of Soria and his father is from the Province of Biscay. Esteban studied in the Corazón de María School of Bilbao and he studied Bachelor's degree, baccalaureate in the Central High School of Bilbao. Later, he studied law in the University of Deusto. He supports the Basque independence but he also considers himself as very Pragmatism, pragmatic. The Basque Country or Basque Autonomous Community (), also officially called Euskadi (), is an Autonomous communities of Spain, autonomous community in northern Spain. Geroa Bai () is a regional political coalition in the Chartered Community of Navarre, created for the 2011 election to the Cortes Generales.
