Basketball At The 1964 Summer Olympics
Basketball contests at the 1964 Summer Olympics was the sixth appearance of the sport of Basketball at the Summer Olympics, basketball as an official Olympic medal event. It took place at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan from October 11 to October 23. The United States men's national basketball team, United States defeated the Soviet Union national basketball team, Soviet Union to win their sixth consecutive gold medal at this event, while Brazil national basketball team, Brazil earned the bronze against Puerto Rico national basketball team, Puerto Rico. Gianfranco "Franco" Lombardi (20 March 1941 – 22 January 2021) was an Italian professional basketball player and coach. During his playing career, his nickname was "Dado".
