William Bartram
William Bartram (April 20, 1739 – July 22, 1823) was an American naturalist, writer and explorer. Bartram was the author of an acclaimed book, now known by the shortened title Bartram's ''Travels'', which chronicled his explorations of the Southern Colonies of British North America from 1773 to 1777. Bartram has been described as "the first naturalist who penetrated the dense tropical forests of Florida". Bartram was one of the first ornithologists born in America. In 1756, at the age of 17, he collected the type specimens of 14 species of American birds, which were illustrated and described by the English naturalist George Edwards in ''Gleanings of Natural History'' vol. 2 (1760). These accounts formed the basis of the scientific descriptions of Linnaeus (1707–1778), Johann Friedrich Gmelin (1748–1804) and John Latham (1740–1837). Richard Bartram
Richard Bartram (1749–1826) was the English Consul of Civita Vecchia in the early 19th century and involved in the saving of the Jacobite Royal Papers. Early life Bartram was born in Trimingham, Norfolk, in 1749 the only son of Captain Richard Bartram of Great Yarmouth Norfolk. His tombstone records: Bartram however did have a sister and later his niece and nephew tried to challenge his will which left everything to his relative Cubbitt Engall Bartram. Bartram refers to Cubbitt Engall Bartram as his nephew but is actually more distantly related. Bartram is a first cousin of Cubbitt's grandfather William Bartram (born 1744). There is interesting correspondence between the Reverend William Gunn of Smallburgh Norfolk and the Bartrams in Civita Vecchia. William Bartram (North Carolina Politician)
Colonel William Bartram (June 14, 1711 – October 24, 1770) was an American scientist and politician in the Province of North Carolina. He was a Quaker and the uncle of the naturalist of the same name. Born in Darby in the Province of Pennsylvania three months before his father William Bartram was killed during the Tuscarora War in the Province of Carolina in 1711, he was captured by the Tuscarora with his family, and later returned to Pennsylvania after they were ransomed by relatives from Philadelphia. The younger William Bartram later returned to see to his father's estate, after Native Americans were removed from the area, and became a prominent planter, colonel of the militia, and long-time member of the colonial legislature. William Bartram (Pennsylvania Politician)
William Bartram (1674 – September 22, 1711) was an English-born Quaker politician and settler who was a member of the Pennsylvania Provincial Assembly from Chester County in 1708. After settling in the Province of Carolina, he was killed in present-day North Carolina during the Tuscarora War in 1711. Bartram was the grandfather of the naturalist of the same name. William emigrated with his family to the Province of Pennsylvania about 1683, when he was around the age of 9. Vincent Lee Bartram (born 7 August 1968) is an English football coach and former professional footballer. He is currently the 1st team Goalkeeper Coach at National League side Eastleigh FC. He is also a Casual Goalkeeper scout for the City Football Group. As a player he was a goalkeeper and he most notably played in the Premier League for Arsenal, where he was understudy to David Seaman throughout the majority of his time at Highbury. Sam Bartram
Samuel Bartram (22 January 1914 – 17 July 1981) was an English professional footballer and manager. He played as a goalkeeper and holds the record for most appearances for Charlton Athletic, his only club at the professional level. Career After school, Sam Bartram became a miner and played as either centre-forward or wing-half in non-league football in the North-East of England. As a teenager he had an unsuccessful trial with Reading. When his local village club Boldon Villa were without a goalkeeper for a cup final in 1934, Bartram took over in goal. A scout from Charlton Athletic, Anthony Seed, was watching the game and Bartram played so well that Seed recommended him to his brother Jimmy Seed, the Charlton Secretary Manager. Per Bartram
Andreas Per Bartram (8 January 1944 – 12 May 2025) was a Danish footballer, who played as a forward. He made 61 appearances in the Scottish League and Football League for Morton and Crystal Palace, scoring 28 goals. He also played for Danish club Odense BK and for the Denmark national team. Club career Bartram began his playing career in 1963, at Odense BK, then playing in the Danish 2nd Division. The club were promoted in 1966, but Bartram moved on to Morton where he made 36 appearances over the next two years scoring 20 goals. Clint Bartram
Clinton "Clint" Bartram (born 18 February 1988) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was recruited from the Geelong Falcons, after growing up in Leopold, Victoria, Leopold. Bartram was recruited by Melbourne at pick 60 in the 2005 AFL National Draft.
