Baron Grey de Wilton is a title that has been created twice, once in the Peerage of England (1295) and once in the Peerage of Great Britain (1784). The first creation was forfeit and the second creation is extinct. History First creation The first creation was generally dated to 23 June 1295, when Reginald de Grey was summoned to an assembly prior to the Model Parliament that was summoned that November, as ''Lord Grey de Wilton''. ''Burke's Peerage'' notes that the June "assembly in question is not now recognized as a bona fide Parl ament, but that Reginald had earlier been summoned to the "assembly called a full Parl amentof 29 May 1290". This branch of the Grey family of aristocrats was based at Wilton Castle on the Welsh border in Herefordshire. Earl of Wilton, of Wilton Castle in the County of Herefordshire, is a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was created in 1801 for Thomas Egerton, 1st Earl of Wilton, Thomas Egerton, 1st Baron Grey de Wilton, along with the subsidiary title of Viscount Grey de Wilton, also in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. Baron Darcy De Knayth
Baron Darcy de Knayth is a title in the Peerage of England. It was created in 1332 for John Darcy (or D'Arcy) with remainder to his heirs general, allowing daughters to inherit. At the death of the sixth baron, the barony fell into abeyance between his two daughters, which the Sovereign terminated in 1641 in favour of Conyers Darcy, as he was also an heir of the abeyant Barony Darcy de Darcy (created 1509). He also successfully petitioned for the termination of the abeyance of the Barony of Conyers in his favour, and both baronies were considered new creations, with remainder to his heirs male. Eleanor de Bohun, Countess of Ormond (17 October 1304 – 7 October 1363) was an English noblewoman born in Knaresborough Castle to Humphrey de Bohun, 4th Earl of Hereford, and Elizabeth of Rhuddlan, Elizabeth, daughter of King Edward I of England and Eleanor of Castile. John Grey, 2nd Baron Grey of Wilton (died 28 October 1323) was an English nobleman and administrator. Biography He was the son of Reginald de Grey, 1st Baron Grey de Wilton and his wife Maud, daughter and heir of William Baron FitzHugh). His first office was as vice-justice of Chester from 1296 to 1297. He participated in the siege and capture of Caerlaverock Castle in July 1300, and his arms were recorded in the ''Roll of Caerlaverock'', a roll of arms compiled during the diese. He was summoned to Parliament from 1309 to 1322. His first parliamentary appointment was that of Lord Ordainer in 1310, and was followed by the grant in 1311 of Ruthin Castle, which passed to his younger son Roger de Grey. Henry de Grey of Grays Thurrock, Essex (1155–1219) was a favourite courtier of King John of England. Life In 1195 he had been granted the Manor of Thurrock in Essex which later became known as Grays Thurrock (or simply Grays), which he bought from Isaac the Jew and his son Josce.
