The Credit Bank of Bujumbura (), or BCB, is a commercial bank in Burundi. Origins The BCB originated as a branch of the (BCB), which was created in 1909 by the of the Kingdom of Belgium. From 1911 to 1952, the was a bank of issue. It opened a branch in Usumbura (now Bujumbura) in 1922. Usumbura, a port on Lake Tanganyika, was the region's commercial centre. The Banque du Congo Belge (BCB, ; ) was a Belgian colonial bank that mainly operated in the Belgian Congo from 1909 to 1960.
