Political, socio-economic, military and cultural ties exist between India and Bahrain. India is a close ally of Bahrain. As per Indian officials, the Kingdom along with its GCC partners are amongst the world's most prominent supporters of India's candidacy for a permanent seat on the UN Security Council, and Bahraini officials have urged India to play a greater role in international affairs. For instance, over concerns about Iran's nuclear programme, Bahrain's Crown Prince requested India to play an active role in resolving the crisis. Nazar Al Baharna
Nizar Al Baharna (Arabic: نزار البحارنة) (born 1950) is a Bahraini academic, entrepreneur and politician. Early life and education Baharna was born in 1950. He is a graduate of the University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia. He received both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering there. He also obtained a PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Wales in 1979. Career He gained the position of the head of the Engineering Department at Gulf Technical College soon after earning his doctorate. Then, Baharna began to work at the University of Bahrain in different capacities until 1995. The last academic post he held was the vice president for academic programs and scientific studies at the University of Bahrain. After leaving academia he established a consulting firm in Bahrain. Hinduism is the second-largest religion in Oman, practised by 5.5% of its population. History For centuries, Muscat attracted Hindu merchants involved in various trades, including pearls and grains. International Solar Alliance
The International Solar Alliance (ISA) is an alliance of more than 120 signatory countries, most being sunshine countries, which lie either completely or partly between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. The primary objective of the alliance is to work for the efficient consumption of solar energy to reduce dependence on fossil fuels. This initiative was first proposed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a speech in November 2015 at Wembley Stadium in which he referred to sunshine countries as ''Suryaputra'' ("Sons of the Sun").
