Baguio
Baguio ( , , ), officially the City of Baguio (; ; ), is a Cities of the Philippines#Legal classification, highly urbanized city in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Philippines. It is known as the "Summer Capital of the Philippines", owing to its cool climate since the city is located approximately above mean sea level, often cited as in the Luzon tropical pine forests ecoregion, which also makes it conducive for the growth of mossy plants, orchids and pine trees, to which it attributes its other moniker as the "City of Pines". Baguio was established as a hill station by the United States in 1900 at the site of an Ibaloi people, Ibaloi village known as ''Kafagway''. It was the United States' only hill station in Asia. Burnham Park (Baguio)
Burnham Park, officially known as the Burnham Park Reservation, is a historic urban park located in downtown Baguio, Philippines. It was designed by eponymous American architect and Baguio urban planning, city planner, Daniel Burnham. Design Burnham Park was built on the grassy valley called "Baguio meadow" of the Ibaloi people, Ibaloi settlement of Kafagway, present-day downtown Baguio. The park was envisioned by American architect Daniel Hudson Burnham as part of a urban design, larger plan for the city of Baguio in 1905. After having presented the preliminary plans for Baguio and the capital city of Manila, Burnham left the task of interpreting such plans to William E. Parsons. Burnham's role in establishing the park is acknowledged through a bust bearing his likeness and a plaque located at one end of the park. Metro Baguio, also known as BLISTT, is an agglomeration of the city of Baguio and five Municipalities of the Philippines, municipalities of the Philippines, Philippine province of Benguet, namely: La Trinidad, Benguet, La Trinidad, Itogon, Sablan, Benguet, Sablan, Tuba, Benguet, Tuba, and Tublay. Benjamin "Benjie" Bañez Magalong (born December 15, 1960) is a Filipino politician and retired police officer serving as the Mayor of Baguio, mayor of Baguio since 2019. Before entering politics, he served in the Philippine Constabulary and Philippine National Police (PNP) for 38 years. Baguio Cathedral
Our Lady of the Atonement Cathedral, commonly known as Baguio Cathedral, is a Roman Catholic cathedral and the see of the Diocese of Baguio in the Philippines. It is located at Cathedral Loop adjacent to Session Road in Baguio. Dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title of Our Lady of Atonement, its distinctive exterior, twin spires and stained glass windows make it a popular tourist attraction in Baguio. Marquez "Mark" Ocampo Go (born September 28, 1952) is a Filipino businessman and politician. Session Road is a six-lane major road in Baguio, Philippines. The entire road forms part of National Route 231 (N231) of the Philippine highway network. The Baguio City Council () is Baguio's Sangguniang Panlungsod or legislative body. The council has 15 members which is composed of 12 councilors, one ''ex officio'' member elected from the ranks of barangay (neighborhood) chairmen, one ''ex officio'' member elected from the ranks of Sangguniang Kabataan (youth council) chairmen and one presiding officer.
