Bagsværd Railway Station
Bagsværd station is a suburban rail railway station serving the suburb of Bagsværd northwest of Copenhagen, Denmark. The station is located in the central part of the suburb a short distance from its main artery Bagsværd Hovedgade. The station is situated on the Farum radial of Copenhagen's S-train network, a hybrid commuter rail and rapid transit system serving Greater Copenhagen. It is served regularly by trains on the B-line which have a journey time to central Copenhagen of around 20 minutes. History The station opened on 20 April 1906 as one of the original intermediate stations on the Slangerup Line between Copenhagen and Slangerup. The station was moved to its current location and converted into an S-train station on 25 September 1977. Operations Bagsværd station is served regularly by trains on the B-line of Copenhagen's S-train network which run between and via central Copenhagen. Greater Copenhagen
The urban area of Copenhagen (also known as Greater Copenhagen) ( or ), lying mostly in the Capital Region of Denmark but also in Region Zealand, consist of Copenhagen and Frederiksberg municipalities and the former Copenhagen County. The rail transport system in Denmark consists of of railway lines, of which the Copenhagen S-train network, the main line Helsingør-Copenhagen-Padborg (at the Denmark–Germany border, German border), and the Lunderskov-Esbjerg line are railway electrification, electrified. Slangerup
Slangerup is a town in Frederikssund Municipality, about 30 km north-west of central Copenhagen, in the Capital Region of Denmark. The town of Slangerup The town was established by the Viking Slangir at the time of Harald Bluetooth. King Eric I of Denmark (ca. 1070-July 1103), was born in Slangerup. Hareskovbanen (English: ''the Hareskov line'') is one of six radial S-train (Copenhagen), S-train lines in Copenhagen. It connects the city center to a number of northwestern suburbs and the cities of Værløse and Farum, with the terminus placed in the latter. History The line was opened in 1906 as part of the private ''København-Slangerup Jernbane'' which went to Slangerup, about two thirds from Farum to Frederikssund.
