Baggage (British Game Show)
''Baggage'' is a British television game show based on the American programme of the same name. The series, hosted by Gok Wan, premiered on Channel 4 on 21 September 2012. Gameplay Similar to the American version, the series features three single contestants who reveal secrets about themselves to a central prospective dater, who eliminates contestants with the baggage he or she deems most unbearable. Once the contestants are narrowed down to one, the main contestant must reveal a secret of his or her own. Production Channel 4 ordered a series pilot on 23 February 2012; Wan was announced as host on 5 July 2012. Gok Wan
Kowkhyn Wan (; born 9 September 1974), known as Gok Wan, is a British fashion consultant, author, television presenter, actor, DJ, chef and event manager. Initially training in the performing arts at the Central School of Speech and Drama, he then entered the fashion business, writing for popular fashion magazines and appearing on various television shows. In 2006, Channel 4 employed him to present his own television show, ''How to Look Good Naked'', which lasted for seven series, and ''Say Yes to the Dress Lancashire''. Moving into other genres, he presented a series of documentaries on social problems among young people, drawing on his personal battles with obesity and homophobia, and presented Chinese cooking shows entitled ''Gok Cooks Chinese'' and ''Gok's Chinese Takeaway''. Baggage (American Game Show)
''Baggage'' is an American dating game show hosted by Jerry Springer and broadcast by Game Show Network. The original series premiered on April 19, 2010, airing for four seasons. A spin-off series, entitled ''Baggage on the Road'', aired for one season, which debuted on January 7, 2015. The show has earned high ratings by GSN's standards; despite this, it has also received mixed critical reception. The series gives three contestants the chance to win the eye of a prospective date. The contestants each have three suitcases onstage: a small, medium, and large one. Each suitcase contains an embarrassing, gross, unique, or weird proposition the contestant may have. These cases represent the "baggage" to which they will confess and defend. As the suitcase size increases, so does the level of shame or embarrassment the secret carries.
