The mixed team badminton event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games was held from 29 July to 2 August at the National Exhibition Centre in Solihull. Schedule ''All times based on British Summer Time ( UTC+01:00)'' Qualification Sixteen nations are also entitled to contest the mixed team event; subject to at least four CGF regions being represented and a minimum entry of two men / two women per team, they qualify as follows: * The host nation. * The top fourteen nations in the BWF World Ranking as of 1 February 2022, excluding the host nation. National Exhibition Centre
The National Exhibition Centre (NEC) is an exhibition centre located in Marston Green, England, near to Birmingham and Solihull. It is near junction 6 of the M42 motorway, and is adjacent to Birmingham Airport and Birmingham International railway station. It was opened by Elizabeth II, Queen Elizabeth II in 1976. History The NEC was originally going to be built adjacent to the M1 motorway (junction 21) near Leicester but it was turned down by Leicestershire County Council with claims that "The big shows won't move away from London". Satwiksairaj Rankireddy (born 13 August 2000) is an Indian badminton player. Together with his men's doubles partner Chirag Shetty, he won the gold medal at the Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, and Asian Championships. They are the only Indian doubles pair to become number 1 in world ranking, win the World Tour Super 1000, and the first Indians to win a gold medal at the Asian Games in badminton. Wendy Chen Hsuan-yu (Traditional Chinese: ; born 1 June 1993) is an Australian badminton player who has represented her country at the 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Career Badminton was the family sport and all of Chen's family played. She excelled in her high school years and represented her school in both junior and senior Badminton events. Thilini Pramodika Hendahewa (born 18 September 1996) is a Sri Lankan badminton player. She competed at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China, also at the 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games. Hendahewa was the women' singles champion at the 2014 Sri Lanka national championships. She won her first senior international title at the 2017 Lagos International tournament in the women's singles and doubles event. Together with Kavidi Sirimannage, they claimed the gold medal in the 2019 South Asian Games. Sachin Premashan Dias Angodavidanalage (born 18 July 1996) is a Sri Lankan badminton player. He won two silver medals and a bronze in singles and doubles at the South Asian Games.
