Badminton At The 2021 SEA Games – Individual Event
The individual events for badminton at the 2021 SEA Games will be held from 19 to 22 May 2022 at the Bac Giang Gymnasium, Bắc Giang, Vietnam. It will be contesting 5 events: the men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. Bắc Giang
Bắc Giang () is a city in Vietnam. It is the capital of Bắc Ninh Province. Its name, deriving from that of the Province Sino-Vietnamese, means "north of the river." Phittayaporn Chaiwan
Lalinrat Chaiwan (; born Pattarasuda Chaiwan (), 21 February 2001) is a Thai badminton player. She has shown her talent as a badminton player in the junior event tournament. She changed her first name to Phittayaporn () after visiting a temple for prayers for a brighter career in badminton. She was crowned champion at the Grand Prix junior tournament in 2017 India and 2018 German, also occupied the girls' singles number 1 in the BWF World Junior Ranking. Born in Lampang Province, Chaiwan was the silver medalist at the 2017 Asian Junior Championships, where she was before won the Junior U–15 Championships in 2015, and U–17 in 2016. Gregoria Mariska Tunjung
Gregoria Mariska Tunjung Cahyaningsih (born 11 August 1999) is an Indonesian badminton player in women's singles. She started her career at the badminton club PB Mutiara Cardinal in Bandung, West Java, and was called to the national team in 2013. She was the girls' singles champion at the 2017 World Junior Championships. Tunjung also captained the Indonesia women's team at the 2022 Asia Team Championships, where they emerged champions. Vũ Thị Trang (born 19 May 1992) is a badminton player from Vietnam. She competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Putri Kusuma Wardani (born 20 July 2002) is an Indonesian badminton player affiliated with Exist Jakarta club. Career Trained in Exist Jakarta club, Wardani joined the Indonesia national training center in 2018. In the national tournament, she was part of the Exist team that won the 2018 Superliga Junior. She was selected to join national team squad to compete at the 2018 Asian and World Junior Championships, and secured bronze medals in both tournaments. She started her career by leaving her hometown in Phú Thọ Province, train at the Hanoi badminton club, and later joined Da Nang club. Siti Nurshuhaini Azman (born 1 September 2004) is a Malaysian badminton player. Her best result was being the runner-up of the women's singles event in the 2021 Czech Open. Yeo Jia Min (; born 1 February 1999) is a Singaporean badminton player. She is a former World Junior No.1 and the first Singaporean in either the junior or senior categories to made it to the top of the BWF's ranking system. Early life and education Yeo was born in Singapore. Initially a permanent resident, she became a Singaporean citizen sometime in her childhood. Lê Đức Phát (born 1 February 1998) is a Vietnamese badminton player. He qualified to represent Vietnam at the 2024 Summer Olympics and was chosen his country's flag bearer. Lee Shun Yang (; born 27 June 2001) is a Malaysian badminton player. He is a triple medalist at the SEA Games, winning two silver medals in the men's team event in 2021 and 2023, as well as a bronze in the men's singles event in 2023. Jason Teh
Jason Teh Jia Heng (born 25 August 2000) is a Singaporean badminton player. He won a bronze medal for Singapore as part of the team at the 2022 Asia Team Championships, 2022 Commonwealth Games, as well at the 2019, 2021, and the 2023 SEA Games. Early life Teh was born in Penang, Malaysia on 25 August 2000. He started playing badminton when he was four and moved to Singapore to study when he was 11.
