Badminton At The 2010 Asian Games – Women's Team
The badminton women's team tournament at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou took place from 13 November to 15 November at Tianhe Gymnasium. Ten teams entered for the tournament but Macau didn't show up against China women's team in quarterfinal round and therefore lost by walkover. China won the gold medal by beating Thailand 3–0 in the final at Tianhe Gymnasium on 15 November 2010. It was the fourth consecutive Asian Games gold for China's women in the event. World number one Wang Xin (badminton), Wang Xin lost the first game to Ratchanok Intanon but rallied to take the opener 20–22 21–17 21–14. In the next bout, Wang Shixian beat Nitchaon Jindapol 21–13, 21–12, to make the team result 2–0. Tianhe Gymnasium
The Tianhe Gymnasium of Tianhe Sports Center is a sports venue in Tianhe District, Guangzhou. It hosted badminton events during the 2010 Asian Games. On 23 April 2019, the Tianhe Sports Center and Guangzhou Loong Lions finished the hand-over ceremony of Tianhe Gymnasium. Salakjit Ponsana
Salakjit Ponsana (; , born 14 February 1984) is a Thai retired badminton player. She competed in the women's singles event at the 2004 Athens and 2008 Beijing Olympics. Her brother, Boonsak Ponsana is also a Thai olympian. Career Ponsana played badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics, defeating Miho Tanaka of Japan in the first round but losing to Gong Ruina of China in the round of 16. In 2008, she was defeated in the second round by Zhang Ning of China with the score 23–21, 17–21, 7–21. Ponsana also competed at the Asian Games in 2002, 2006, and 2010, and won the 2010 women's team silver medal. Yoo Hyun-young (badminton)
Yoo Hyun-young (; born 3 January 1990) is a badminton player from South Korea. Her first big result internationally came when, at the age of 16, she partnered Lee Yong-dae to win the mixed doubles title at the 2006 BWF World Junior Championships, as well as the mixed team title. She was a team-mate of both Bae Yeon-ju and Jung Kyung-eun at Masan's Sungji Girls' High School and in 2007, all three girls were runners-up at the 2007 BWF World Junior Championships. After graduating to the senior ranks, Yoo continued to play with both Jung and Shin Baek-cheol, her partner in her last year of junior play. Sung Ji-hyun (; born 29 July 1991) is a South Korean badminton player from Seoul. She is an Badminton Asia Championships, Asian Championship gold medalist, a two-time Badminton at the Summer Universiade, Summer Universiade gold medalist, and a BWF World Championships, World Championship bronze medalist. Lee Kyung-won (; ; born 21 January 1980 in Andong, North Gyeongsang Province) is a badminton player from South Korea. Lee was the women's doubles gold medallist at the 2002 Asian Games. She competed at the Olympic Games in 2000, 2004, and 2008, winning women's doubles bronze in 2004, and silver in 2008. Lee Hyo-jung (badminton)
Lee Hyo-jung (; ; born 13 January 1981) is a South Korean former badminton player. She won the gold medal in badminton mixed doubles at the Badminton at the 2008 Summer Olympics, 2008 Summer Olympics with her partner, Lee Yong-dae. Lee Hyo-jung and Lee Yong-dae were unseeded, and in the finals they beat the top seeds and 2005 and 2007 world champions Lilyana Natsir and Nova Widianto of Indonesia, 21-11, 21-17. Kim Min-jung (badminton)
Kim Min-jung (born 29 July 1986) is a badminton player representing South Korea. Her name is sometimes spelled Kim Min-jeong. As a badminton player, Kim has focused on doubles with Ha Jung-eun; together they competed at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In the past she has been paired with Hwang Ji-man and Yoo Yeon-seong in mixed doubles. Hwang Hye-youn
Hwang Hye-youn (; born April 3, 1985, in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province) is a retired female badminton player from South Korea. Hwang started playing badminton at 7, at her local elementary school. Hwang who educated at the Pocheon High School, competed at the 2002 Asian Junior Championships, and won the silver medal in the girls' team event. She entered the South Korea national team in 2004. Although she won national championships in 2005 and 2006, she wasn't known internationally until she beat reigning World Champion Xie Xingfang en route to the final of the 2006 Thailand Open. Ha Jung-eun (; born 26 April 1987) is a women's and mixed doubles badminton player from South Korea. Ha was competed at the 2006, 2010 Asian Games, 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics. Bae Yeon-ju (; ; born 26 October 1990) is a retired international badminton player from South Korea. Bae Seung-hee
Bae Seung-hee (; born 20 September 1983) is a badminton player from South Korea. She is best remembered for her role in South Korea's first ever Uber Cup victory in 2010. Bae was on the South Korean national team shortly after graduating from junior eligibility but from age 19 to 25, she played only for her domestic team Korea Ginseng Corporation, and competed overseas only twice between April 2003 and November 2008. She was called back to the national team after winning a national event in 2008 and in August 2009, she reached her first of two consecutive finals at the Chinese Taipei Open.
