BERNAMA
The Malaysian National News Agency (), is a news agency of the government of Malaysia. It is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Communications. Headquartered at the Wisma Bernama, off Jalan Tun Razak near National Library, Kuala Lumpur, it was created by an Act of Parliament in 1967 and began operating on 20 May 1968. Its key role is to provide and supplying real-time comprehensive and credible news and accurate information for its clients, both public and media practitioners. Bernama's role as a news organization is well known among the local and international media, despite the ever-changing political and media freedom landscape in recent years. Most of the news media in Malaysia and Singapore and international news agencies subscribe to Bernama. Bernama TV (known briefly as Bernama News Channel from 2016 to 2019) is a Malaysian free-to-air news television network. Launched in 2008, it is owned by Bernama, a government news agency. It airs news programmes that are related to local and international business, lifestyle, sports and entertainment as well as in-house programmes. Bernama Radio (formerly known as Radio24 or BERNAMA Radio24 from 2007 until 2016) is the first all-news radio station in Malaysia, owned and operated by Bernama, the news agency of the Government of Malaysia. History The free-to-air station began trial transmission on 2007 at noon and was officially launched on 3 September 2007 at 9:00 a.m. It broadcasts on the FM 93.9 MHz frequency in the Klang Valley that was formerly used by RTM's Klasik Nasional FM. The Dewan Rakyat (; Jawi script, Jawi: ), is the lower house of the Bicameralism, bicameral Parliament of Malaysia, Parliament which is the federal legislature of Malaysia. ''Eastern Sun'' was an English-language newspaper that ran from 1966 to 1971 in Singapore. In 1971, ''Eastern Sun'' was exposed for having ties to a communist agency in Hong Kong, China, and that they would be paid to not oppose the People's Republic of China on major issues and would remain neutral on minor ones. History ''Eastern Sun'' was founded in 1966 by Aw Kow, the son of Tiger Balm founder Aw Boon Haw, using HK$3 million that he borrowed from a communist news agency based in Hong Kong.
