Jan Arnald
Jan Arnald (born 11 January 1963) is a Swedish novelist and literary critic, whose pen name is Arne Dahl. He has become famous with crime fiction, and he is also a regular writer in Swedish newspaper ''Dagens Nyheter''. He published ''Barbarer'' (2001) and ''Maria och Artur'' (2006) under his own name, but under his pen name he has written a series of crime novels about a fictional group of Swedish crime investigators, called "A Gruppen" in Swedish and "the Intercrime Group" in the first English translation. The books are translated into several languages. The first five books were made into 180-minute films, screened as two 90-minute episodes per story. The first, ''Misterioso'', was screened on SVT1 in Sweden on 27 and 28 December 2011, with the following four stories shown in eight weekly instalments between October and December 2012. George Arnald
George Arnald (1763 – 21 November 1841) was a British painter who specialised in landscapes, including topographical views to illustrated county histories. He is best known for his celebrated painting depicting the Battle of the Nile. Biography George Arnald was born in 1763. One account places his birth in the village of Farndip (now Farndish) in Northamptonshire (now Bedfordshire), although others suggest he was born in Berkshire. There is little information about Arnald's early years, but it is believed that he began his working life as a domestic servant before turning to the study of art. He was a student of the landscape painter and engraver William Pether (c. 1738–1821). Arnald first exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1788, and eventually had 176 works exhibited there. Richard Arnald
Richard Arnald (1698 or 1700 Nichols, J., ''The history and antiquities of the county of Leicester'', Vol. 3, Part 2 (1804), pp. 1059, 1071 – 4 September 1756) was a distinguished English clergyman and biblical scholar. Life He was a native of London, and received his education at Bishop Stortford School, whence he proceeded in 1714 to Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. After graduating B.A., he removed to Emmanuel College, where he was elected to a fellowship on 24 June 1720, and took the degree of M.A. While resident at Emmanuel he printed two copies of Sapphics on the death of George I, and a sermon preached at Bishop Stortford school-feast on 3 August 1726. In 1733 he was presented to the living of Thurcaston in Leicestershire, and was afterwards made prebendary of Lincoln. Arnald died on 4 September 1756, and was buried in Thurcaston church. ''On Land and in the Sea'' is the second studio album proper by the English rock band Cardiacs. Produced by band leader Tim Smith, it was recorded and mixed in 1988 at The Slaughterhouse studios in Yorkshire and released in May 1989 by the band's label Alphabet Business Concern. The record features a complex sound, with songs moving through rapid shifts in tempo and key, as well as more experimentation with song structures than the group's previous album. Critics have described the record as art rock and pop music, pop in style. It was their final album with their "classic" six-piece line-up. Promoted by the single "Baby Heart Dirt", ''On Land and in the Sea'' received mixed reviews from music critics, although attracted more favourable notices than the group's previous work. Many Cardiacs fans consider it the band's best album. The album also turned future Cardiacs member Kavus Torabi onto the group.
