Alex Taylor (rugby Union)
Alex Taylor (born c. 1990 in Invercargill, Southland, New Zealand) is a New Zealand rugby union player who plays for Stirling County as a Number Eight. Rugby Union career Amateur career Having started his rugby at Southland Boys' High School, Taylor moved on to senior club play for Woodlands Rugby Club. He was part of 4 Galbraith Shield wins which included a 3 peat. Having moved to Spain for a short term contract with top club VRAC in Valladolid. Taylor has since moved to Scotland, where now plays for Stirling County. Professional career Taylor played provincial rugby in New Zealand before moving to Scotland. He played for Southland alongside John Hardie. He also played 7s for Southland where he competed in two national tournaments. In 2015, he left New Zealand to go to Scotland. Wānaka
Wānaka () is a popular ski and summer resort town in the Otago region of the South Island of New Zealand. At the southern end of Lake Wānaka, it is at the start of the Clutha River/Mata-Au and is the gateway to Mount Aspiring National Park. John Hardie (rugby Union)
John Hardie (born 27 July 1988) is a New Zealand born Scottish international rugby union player who plays for Newcastle Falcons. Hardie predominantly plays as an open side flanker, though he is also comfortable on the blindside. Having previously played for the Southland Stags in the Mitre 10 Cup and the Highlanders in the Super Rugby competition. Playing career Club career As a student of Southland Boys High School he was in the first XV for three years from 2004 to 2006 earning New Zealand Secondary Schools selection in his final year. The following year he was a member of the New Zealand Under 19 team which won the 2007 IRB World Championships in Ireland. He made his Southland debut in 2007 against Otago, and emerged as a full-time starter during the 2009 Air New Zealand Cup, appearing in every match and scoring three tries.
