After Shave (2005 Film)
''After Shave'' (french: Beyrouth Après Rasage) is a 2005 Lebanese short film by the Lebanese director Hany Tamba. It won the 2006 César Awards for best short film. Synopsis Abou Milad is an old barber who lost his hairdressing salon during the Lebanese civil war. Nowadays, he earns his crust by cutting hair in the working class cafés of Beirut. One day, he is summoned by a recluse who lives in a grand bourgeois house. Music The film was scored by Lebanese composer Khaled Mouzanar. A short film is any motion picture that is short enough in running time not to be considered a feature film. Khaled Mouzanar (born September 27, 1974) is a Lebanese music composer, songwriter, writer and film producer. He has composed music scores for several films, including ''After Shave'', ''Caramel'', ''Where Do We Go Now?'' and '' Capernaum (film)''. In 2008, he recorded ''Les Champs Arides'', his first solo album as a singer and songwriter. His work is rooted in various genres, including classical, contemporary and folk music. His compositions are also influenced by Brazilian choro, Argentinian tango and oriental melodies. Career Mouzanar studied under Boghos Gelalian – an Armenian-Lebanese composer. Mahmoud Mabsout ( ar, محمود مبسوط), also known by the character Fehmen ( ar, فهمان) (1941 – 25 July 2011) was a Lebanese actor. Biography Mahmoud was born in 1941 in Tripoli, North Lebanon. He was not good at school, as he said in an interview. He failed first grade six times, and when he was 12 years old, the principal of his school told his father "your son is not good for school." Meanwhile, Mahmoud spent his time acting sketches that he invented with his friends. Mahmoud formed with his friends the "Drabzin Agha" troupe, and made some sketches that made it to festival of the «Ecole des Freres» (school). His father didn't want him to act, and was reported to beat Mahmoud in order to stop him from acting.
