The album title is in reference to "The Four Horsemen" from ''Kill 'Em All'' and contains covers of songs by Metallica from ''Kill 'Em All'' to '' ReLoad'', but omits '' Load''. Thrash metal (or simply thrash) is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal music characterized by its overall aggression and often fast tempo.Kahn-Harris, Keith, ''Extreme Metal: Music and Culture on the Edge'', pp. 2–3, 9. Anthrax (American Band)
Anthrax is an American heavy metal band from New York City, formed in 1981 by rhythm guitarist Scott Ian and bassist Dan Lilker. The group is considered one of the leaders of the thrash metal scene from the 1980s and is part of the "Big Four" of the genre, along with Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer. Primus is an American rock band formed in El Sobrante, California in 1984. The band is currently composed of bassist/vocalist Les Claypool, guitarist Larry "Ler" LaLonde, and drummer Tim "Herb" Alexander. Primus originally formed in 1984 with Claypool and guitarist Todd Huth, later joined by drummer Jay Lane, though the latter two departed the band at the beginning of 1989, and were replaced by LaLonde and Alexander respectively. In Flames is a Swedish heavy metal band, formed by guitarist Jesper Strömblad in Gothenburg in 1990. Alongside At the Gates and Dark Tranquillity, In Flames pioneered the genres known as Swedish death metal and melodic death metal. During the band's early years, In Flames had a varying group of musicians recording with them, including many session musicians. By the release of ''Colony'' (1999), the group had established a stable lineup. "Eye of the Beholder" is a song by the American heavy metal band Metallica. It was released on October 30, 1988, as the second single from their fourth studio album, '' ...And Justice for All''. Lyrically, the song concerns imposed limitations on freedom of speech and freedom of expression in general. "Eye of the Beholder" is notable for its chorus section containing time played, not as an ordinary compound quadruple time, but as a syncopated rhythm. The rest of the song is a more conventional rhythm at a slower tempo than that seen on Metallica's previous three albums. The song has not been performed live in its entirety since 1989. Crematory is a German gothic metal band formed in Mannheim in 1991. History The band received its earliest recognition in the mid-1990s by touring with My Dying Bride, Tiamat and Atrocity.
