Athletics At The 2024 Summer Paralympics – Men's 100 Metres
The Men's 100m Athletics at the 2024 Summer Paralympics, athletics events for the 2024 Summer Paralympics took place at the Stade de France from 30 August to 7 September 2024. A total of 16 events were contested over the distance. T11 and T12 events were hosted over three rounds, in order to accommodate sighted guides, while the T51 event was held as a straight final. Ihor Tsvietov (; born 2 March 1994) is a Ukrainian Paralympic athlete with cerebral palsy. He competes as T35-classified athlete in 100 and 200 metres sprinting events. He won two gold medals at the 2016 Summer Paralympics held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: in the men's 100 metres T35 event and in the men's 200 metres T35 event. Mpumelelo Mhlongo (born 22 March 1994) is a South African sprint and long jump athlete and Paralympic Games record holder. Mhlongo won silver and bronze at the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships in the T44 men's 100 metres and long jump events. Mlongo lives with constriction ring syndrome and a deformed clubfoot. Track and field career Mhlongo has represented South Africa at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics Games, where he broke the T44 200m World Record and set the T44 200m, 100m, and long jump Paralympic Games records. Ryan Medrano (born August 26, 1997) is an American Paralympian track and field athlete. He represented the United States at the 2024 Summer Paralympics where he won two silver medals. Additionally he is a Parapan American Games gold medalist and a World Para Athletics Championships silver medalist. He competed on the 43rd season of ''Survivor''. Early life Medrano was born three months early, which resulted in fluid in the cerebellum of his brain. Additionally he was born with cerebral palsy. Jaydin Blackwell (born March 16, 2004) is an American T38 Paralympic sprint runner. He is a two-time Paralympic gold medalist. Career On May 25, 2023, Blackwell was selected to represent the United States at the 2023 World Para Athletics Championships, where he made his international debut. He won a gold medal in the 100 metres T38 event with a championship record time of 10.92. He also won a gold medal in the 400 metres T38 event with a world record time of 48.49. During the 2024 World Para Athletics Championships he won a gold medal in the 100 meters T38 event with a World Para Athletics Championships record time of 10.86. Andrey Vdovin (, also transliterated Andrei Vdovin, born 26 February 1994) is a Russian parasport athlete competing mainly in category T37 sprint and middle-distance events. A triple gold medal winner at the 2013 IPC Athletics World Championships, Vdovin also set three world records in his class between 2013 and 2014. Personal history Vdovin was born in Dzerzhinsk, Russia in 1994. He has cerebral palsy. After leaving secondary education he enrolled at the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University to study Information Technology. Athletics career Vdovin took up athletics at the age of 10 and later joined the Specialised Children's Youth Sport School of Olympic Reserve in Zarya.
