Athletics (sport), Athletics events at the 2012 Summer Paralympics were held in the Olympic Stadium (London), Olympic Stadium and in The Mall, London, The Mall in London, United Kingdom, from 31 August to 9 September 2012. Classification Athletes were given a classification depending on the type and extent of their disability. The classification system allowed athletes to compete against others with a similar level of function. The athletics classifications are: *11–13: Blind (11) and visually impaired (12, 13) athletes *20: Athletes with an intellectual disability *31–38: Athletes with cerebral palsy *40: Les Autres (others) (including people with dwarfism) *42–46: Amputees *51–58: Athletes with a spinal cord disability The class numbers were given prefixes of "T", "F" and "P" for track, field and pentathlon events, respectively. Efstratios Nikolaidis (born 19 September 1985) is a Greek Paralympic athlete who specializes in shot put. He represented Greece at the Paralympic Games. Muhammad Ziyad bin Zolkefli (born 15 March 1990) is a Malaysia, Malaysian Paralympic athletics, Paralympic athlete who competes in T20 (classification), T20 classification shot put events. He has represented Malaysia in multiple Paralympic Games, Paralympics, World Para Athletics Championships, World Championships and regional games, previously holding the world record in his division. Todd Hodgetts, (born 23 March 1988) is an Australian athlete on the autism spectrum who won a gold medal at the 2012 Summer Paralympics, 2012 London Paralympics and a bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Paralympics, 2016 Rio Paralympics, and also competed at the 2020 Summer Paralympics. Personal Todd Hodgetts was born on 23 March 1988 in Launceston, Tasmania, and grew up in the suburb of Newstead, Tasmania, Newstead. He lived in Tasmania until 2011, when he moved to Canberra to improve his chances of making the 2012 Summer Paralympics. After the London Games, he relocated to Melbourne.
