Athletics At The 2004 Summer Olympics – Women's Long Jump
The women's long jump competition at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens was held at the Olympic Stadium on 25–27 August. The winning margin was 2 cm. Competition format The competition consisted of two rounds, qualification and final. In qualification, each athlete jumped three times (stopping early if they made the qualifying distance). At least the top twelve athletes moved on to the final; if more than twelve reached the qualifying distance, all who did so advanced. Distances were reset for the final round. Finalists jumped three times, after which the eight best jumped three more times (with the best distance of the six jumps counted). Wang Lina (; born February 28, 1983, in Benxi, Liaoning) is a Chinese long jumper. Wang won the silver medal at the 2002 World Junior Championships, and competed at the 2004 Olympic Games without reaching the final. Career Edwards attended Queen's College High School in Nassau, Bahamas and graduated in 1987. She graduated from Stanford University in 1992. Ineta Radēviča
Ineta Radēviča (born 13 July 1981) is a retired Latvian athlete, competing in the long jump and triple jump. Radēviča won the bronze medal in the 2003 European U-23 championship. She has also won two NCAA championships, while competing for the University of Nebraska. In the 2004 Summer Olympics, she was 13th in the triple jump and 20th in the long jump. Radēviča became popular after posing nude for Playboy magazine before the 2004 Summer Olympics. Tünde Vaszi (born 18 April 1972 in Érpiskolt, Romania) is a retired Hungary, Hungarian long jumper. Her greatest success was the bronze medal at the 2002 European Championships in Athletics, and her personal best is 6.86 metres from when she placed fourth at the 2001 World Championships in Athletics, 2001 World Championships in Edmonton. Grace Upshaw Tyler (born September 25, 1975) is an American track and field athlete who competes in the long jump. She represented the United States in her specialty at the Summer Olympics in both 2004 and 2008. She has also reached the long jump final at the World Championships in Athletics on two occasions (2003 and 2005). Bianca Kappler (born 8 August 1977) is a German long jumper. Biography Born in Hamburg, she finished ninth at the 2004 Olympic Games. She competed at the World Championships in 2003 and 2005 without reaching the finals. At the 2005 European Indoor Championships her last jump was measured to 6.96 metres, which would have secured her the gold medal by a comfortable margin.
