Paavo Johansson (later Jaale) (21 October 1895, in – 5 December 1983) was a Finnish athlete who competed mainly in the javelin throw. Career Johansson competed for Finland in the 1920 Summer Olympics held in Antwerp, Belgium, winning the bronze behind Jonni Myyrä and Urho Peltonen and ahead of Julius Saaristo as Finland claimed the first four spots. He also took part in the decathlon, but dropped out after the first day. Johansson won the British AAA Championships title in the javelin event at the 1922 AAA Championships. Urho Peltonen
Urho Pellervo Peltonen (15 January 1893 – 7 January 1951) was a Finnish athlete who competed mainly in the javelin throw. He competed for Finland in the 1912 Summer Olympics held in Stockholm, Sweden, in both the regular and two-handed javelin throw, a one-time Olympic event in which the total was counted as a sum of best throws with the right hand and with the left hand. Peltonen won a bronze medal in the latter event behind fellow Finns Julius Saaristo and Väinö Siikaniemi and one place ahead of Swede Eric Lemming, who had won the one hand competition. Eight years later after World War I he again competed for Finland in the 1920 Summer Olympics held in Antwerp, Belgium, where he won the silver medal in the regular javelin as Finland swept the first four places with Jonni Myyrä winning, Paavo Johansson in third and Saaristo in fourth. James Dalrymple also known as Jock Dalrymple (3 February 1892 – 14 May 1960) was a British athlete who competed at the 1924 Summer Olympics. Biography Dalrymple became the national javelin champion after winning the British AAA Championships title at the 1923 AAA Championships. He had been considered the British champion in 1922 by virtue of being the highest placed British athlete at the 1922 AAA Championships. In June 1924, he successfully retained his javelin title at the 1924 AAA Championships and less than one month later represented Great Britain at the Paris Olympics. At the 1924 Olympic Games, Dalrymple competed in the men's javelin throw, where he was eliminated in qualifying. Dalrymple was once again the best placed British athlete at both the 1925 AAA Championships and the 1925 AAA Championships.
