Armoured reconnaissance also Combat reconnaissance vehicle is the combination of terrestrial reconnaissance with armoured warfare by soldiers using tanks and wheeled or tracked armoured reconnaissance vehicles. While the mission of reconnaissance is to gather intelligence about the enemy with the use of reconnaissance vehicles, armoured reconnaissance adds the ability to fight for information, and to have an effect on and to shape the enemy through the performance of traditional armoured tasks. 10th Light Horse Regiment (Australia)
The 10th Light Horse Regiment is a "mounted infantry" regiment of the Australian Army Reserve, raised in Western Australia (WA). While the name of the 10th Light Horse originated in the first months of World War I, the regiment traces its ceremonial lineage to mounted infantry units of the Colonial militia of Western Australia, raised during the late 19th century, such as the Western Australian Mounted Infantry. Consequently, its battle honours include: "South Africa" (Boer War) and; "Gallipoli", " Gaza-Beersheba", "Jerusalem", " Megiddo" and "Damascus" (World War I). The Queen's York Rangers (1st American Regiment) (RCAC) is a Canadian Army Primary Reserve regiment of the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps. Based in Toronto and Aurora, Ontario, the regiment is part of 4th Canadian Division's 32 Canadian Brigade Group. 8th Canadian Hussars (Princess Louise's)
The 8th Canadian Hussars (Princess Louise's) (VIII CH) is a reserve armoured reconnaissance regiment in the Canadian Army, with two squadrons. It was formed on 4 April 1848 in the then-colony of New Brunswick, which remains the regiment's home to this day, its regimental headquarters (RHQ) and A Squadron being in Moncton, with B Squadron in Sussex. In 1957, its name was chosen for the formation of a new Regular Force regiment to serve alongside the reserve regiment. The regular regiment served in Gagetown, New Brunswick, and Petawawa, Ontario, as well as the Sinai, Cyprus, Iserlohn (Fort Beausejour), Soest, and Lahr, West Germany. The Halifax Rifles (RCAC)
The Halifax Rifles (RCAC) is a Canadian Army regiment that served between the years of 1860 and 1965 before being reduced to nil strength and placed on the Supplementary Order of Battle. The regiment was reactivated on May 10, 2009, as a reserve force unit performing the role of armoured reconnaissance. It is the first and only regiment since the 1960s to be reactivated from the Supplementary Order of Battle. The Governor General's Horse Guards is an armoured cavalry regiment in the Primary Reserve of the Canadian Army.
