Archery At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's Individual
The women's individual archery event was one of five archery events held at the 2020 Summer Olympics. It was held at Yumenoshima Park. There were 64 competitors from 40 nations, with each nation having either 1 or 3 archers. Background This was the 13th consecutive Olympic appearance of the event, which has been held every Games since archery returned to the Olympic program in 1972. Five of the 8 quarterfinalists from the 2016 Games returned: silver medalist Lisa Unruh of Germany, fourth-place finisher Alejandra Valencia of Mexico, and quarterfinalists Tan Ya-ting of Chinese Taipei, Wu Jiaxin of China, and Naomi Folkard of Great Britain. Ranking round world record holder Kang Chae-young of South Korea competed. The 2019 World Champion Lei Chien-ying joined Tan on the Chinese Taipei team (Kang was the bronze medalist). Yumenoshima Park
is a sports park in Yumenoshima, Kōtō, Kōtō Ward, Tokyo, Japan. It was made by improving a landfill site called Yumenoshima, which was the final disposal site for garbage from 1957 until 1967. Aída Nabila Román Arroyo (born May 21, 1988) is a Mexican archer. A three-time Olympian, she won silver medal in the women's individual event at the 2012 Summer Olympics and was the women's World Indoor Archery Champion in 2014. She has additionally achieved medal finishes at the World Archery Championships, Archery World Cup, and Pan American Games. Mackenzie Brown
Mackenzie Yee Brown (born March 14, 1995) is an American archer. She represented the United States at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro as the USA's only female archer. She represented the United States again at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Early life She was born in Flint, Texas, where she spent her childhood and grew up around bowhunting. She is the daughter of Stacey and Chuck Brown. She is an Evangelical Christian. As of summer 2016, she resides in Chula Vista, California where she is a Resident Athlete at the U.S. Olympic Training Center. Jang Min-hee (, born 5 April 1999) is a South Korean archer. She won gold in the women's individual and team events at the 2021 World Archery Championships held in Yankton, United States. She also won the gold medal in the women's team event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. She graduated from Incheon National University.
