Apple's Jade
Apple's Jade (foaled 24 April 2012) is a French-bred, Irish-trained Thoroughbred racehorse who competed in National Hunt hurdle races. She won 11 times at Grade I level, making her one of the most successful jumping mares of all time. After winning her only race in her native country she was sold and exported to Ireland. In her first season at her new base she was one of the best juvenile hurdlers in the British Isles, winning the Knight Frank Juvenile Hurdle, Anniversary Juvenile Hurdle and Champion Four Year Old Hurdle as well as finishing second in the Triumph Hurdle. In the following season she was narrowly beaten in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle but proceeded to win the Hatton's Grace Hurdle, David Nicholson Mares' Hurdle and Mares Champion Hurdle. Craig An Eran
Craig an Eran (1918 – 1945) was a British Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. He failed to win as a two-year-old but improved to become one of the best in England in 1921. He won the 2000 Guineas, St James's Palace Stakes and Eclipse Stakes as well as finishing second in the Epsom Derby and fourth in the St Leger. After his retirement from racing he became a successful breeding stallion whose offspring included April the Fifth and Mon Talisman. Sunny Jane (1914 – after 1925) was a British Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare. She was slow to mature and finished unplaced on her only start as a two-year-old in 1916. Her second season was dominated by her rivalry with the brilliantly fast filly Diadem. Sunny Jane was narrowly beaten by her rival in the 1000 Guineas but reversed the form over a longer distance to win the New Oaks. She won one other race but lost her form in the autumn and was retired from racing. As a broodmare she produced few winners but exerted an enduring influence through her daughter Miss Cavendish. The Grand Prix d'Automne is a Group 1 hurdle race in France which is open to horses aged five years or older. It is run at Auteuil over a distance of 4,800 metres (about 3 miles), and it is scheduled to take place each year in late October or early November. History The race was first run in 1929 as an autumn counterpart to the Grand Prix du Printemps, a handicap race run at the same course in spring. The Haldon Gold Cup is a Grade 2 National Hunt steeplechase in Great Britain which is open to horses aged four years or older. It is run at Exeter over a distance of about 2 miles and 1½ furlongs (2 miles, 1 furlong and 109 yards, or 3,520 metres), and during its running there are twelve fences to be jumped. The race is scheduled to take place each year in late October or early November. The event is named after Haldon, a ridge of high ground in Devon on which Exeter Racecourse is located. Markings on horses are usually distinctive white areas on an otherwise dark base coat color. Most horses have some markings, and they help to identify the horse as a unique individual. Markings are present at birth and do not change over the course of the horse's life.
