FIBA Africa Championship 2015
AfroBasket 2015 was the 28th edition of the AfroBasket, a men's basketball continental championship of Africa. It also served as the qualifying tournament for FIBA Africa at the 2016 Summer Olympics Basketball Tournament in Brazil. The tournament was held in Tunis, Tunisia. The men's basketball tournament at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, began on 17 September and ended on 1 October, when the United States defeated France 85–75 for the gold medal. Basketball at the 1992 Summer Olympics was the thirteenth appearance of the sport of basketball as an official Olympic medal event. It included the sport of basketball's men's and women's competitions of the 1992 Summer Olympics. Victorino Cunha
Victorino Eugénio da Silva e Cunha, (born 18 April 1945 in Mogofores, Portugal) is a former basketball player and basketball coach. Although born in Portugal, he moved to Angola at the age of 3. Cunha, who coached the Angola National team to win three African titles, in 1989, 1992 and 1993, in addition to coaching the same team at the world championships in 1986, 1990 and 1994 and the 1992 Summer Olympics, is widely regarded as the forefather of Angolan basketball and the mastermind behind all the success achieved by the sports in Angola. FIBA World Rankings
The FIBA Men's World Ranking, are FIBA's rankings of national basketball teams. FIBA ranks both men's and women's national teams for both senior and junior competitions. It also publishes combined rankings for all mixed-sex competitions. Not included are the rankings for three-on-three competitions, which are tabulated for individual players. The ranking system compares teams based on the weighted average rating points they earn in games over the last eight years. Teams earn a certain amount of rating points for each game based on the margin of victory/defeat, site of game and strength of opponent. Each game's rating points are then weighted by factors including the time of game, competition/region, competition stage and round reached.
