Andy Harris (baseball)
Andrew Ananias Harris (July 27, 1896 – October 2, 1957) was an American Negro league infielder and manager between 1917 and 1927. A native of St. Helena, North Carolina, Harris made his Negro leagues debut in 1917 with the Hilldale Club. He played for the Pennsylvania Red Caps of New York in 1920, and was back with Hilldale in 1922. In 1926, Harris served as player–manager of the Newark Stars in the franchise's lone season in the Eastern Colored League. He finished his playing career with the Lincoln Giants in 1927. Andrew Harris (born 17 November 1970) is an English former professional footballer who made 40 appearances in the Football League playing for Birmingham City, Oxford United and Exeter City. He played as a midfielder. Life and career Harris was born in Birmingham. He joined Birmingham City as an apprentice under the YTS scheme, and turned professional two years later. He made his debut on 11 November 1989, substituting for John Frain in a goalless draw at Leyton Orient in the Football League Third Division. In March 1990, he signed on loan for Telford United, and scored once from six appearances in the Football Conference. He went on loan in October 1991 to Oxford United of the Second Division, where he played only once, and the following month was allowed to move to Exeter City. Andrew William Harris (born 2 February 1971) is a former Welsh cricketer. Harris was a left-handed batsman who fielded as a wicket-keeper. He was born in Newport, Monmouthshire. Harris made his debut for Wales Minor Counties in the 1989 Minor Counties Championship against Buckinghamshire. He played Minor counties cricket for Wales Minor Counties from 1989 to 1996, which included 44 Minor Counties Championship matches and 7 MCCA Knockout Trophy matches. Andrew David Douglas Harris (born 26 February 1977) is a former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He spent his whole playing career in England. He previously played in the Football League for Southend United, Leyton Orient and Chester City. Early life He was born in Springs in South Africa. Andrew Harris (born April 24, 1987) is a Canadian former professional Canadian football, football running back and is the running backs coach for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He has career high rankings of No. 84 in doubles achieved on 30 October 2023 and No. 159 in singles achieved on 11 November 2019. Andrew Harris (1814 – December 1, 1841) was an American abolitionist, minister, and the first Black graduate of the University of Vermont (class of 1838). He was one of the first African Americans to receive a college degree in the United States and the first to champion abolition of slavery and full racial equality. Early life and education Harris was born in 1814 to African American parents in New York State. His mother may have been only 12 years old when she gave birth to him. As an infant, Harris was adopted by a white couple (a Presbyterian minister and a homemaker) in Cayuga, New York, in the Finger Lakes region. Andrew Peter Harris (born January 25, 1957) is an American politician and physician serving as the U.S. representative for since 2011. The district includes the entire Eastern Shore, as well as several eastern exurbs of Baltimore County. He is the only Republican member of Maryland's congressional delegation. Prior to entering politics, Harris worked as an anesthesiologist at Johns Hopkins University and served as a commanding officer for the Johns Hopkins Naval Reserve Medical Unit from 1989 to 1992. He was elected to the Maryland Senate in 1998, after defeating incumbent F. Vernon Boozer in the Republican primary. Andrew Michael Harris (29 September 1964 – 11 May 1996), commonly known by his nickname Andy Harris, was a New Zealand mountain guide who died in the 1996 Mount Everest disaster. Harris was one of the guides for the Adventure Consultants' 1996 Everest expedition, led by Rob Hall. It was Harris' first attempt to summit Mount Everest, though he had extensive climbing experience in New Zealand.
