David Amess
Sir David Anthony Andrew Amess ( ; 26 March 1952 – 15 October 2021) was a British politician who served as Member of Parliament (United Kingdom), Member of Parliament (MP) for Southend West from 1997 until Murder of David Amess, his murder in 2021. He previously served as MP for Basildon (UK Parliament constituency), Basildon from 1983 to 1997. A member of the Conservative Party (UK), Conservative Party, he was a Catholic Church in England and Wales, Catholic with socially conservative political views, and was in favour of Britain leaving the European Union. Born and raised in Essex, Amess studied economics and government at Bournemouth University and then had short careers as a primary school teacher, underwriter and recruitment consultant. Katherine Louise Diana Amess ( ; 19 July 1985) is an English actress. She has appeared in many TV, film and theatre roles as well as commercials. Early life and education Amess was born in Basildon, Essex, the second of five children and the eldest of four daughters of Conservative MP David Amess and his wife Julia Arnold. She attended St Anne Line Primary School in Basildon before going to the Brentwood Ursuline Convent High School in Brentwood, Essex, and finally St Bernard's High School in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex. She went on to study drama at Queen Mary University of London and the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. Career Amess competed in several British beauty pageants and won the title of Miss Essex 2008 for the Miss Earth 2008 contest. Ronald Amess
Ronald William "Ron" Amess (9 August 1927 – 20 October 2011) was an Australian ice hockey player. Amess was a member of the Australian national team during the 1960 Winter Olympics and also competed in the 1962 World Ice Hockey Championships. Playing career During the 1950s Amess played for the Wildcats out of the Melbourne Glaciarium. In 1953 he was selected for the Victorian state team to compete at the 1953 Goodall Cup. Victoria went on to win the tournament. In 1960 Amess was selected to play as a forward for the Australian national team to compete at the 1960 Winter Olympics, which is the only ice hockey team Australia has ever sent to the Olympics. Australia finished last in the competition losing all six of their games. Amess who played in five of the six games failed to record any points and finished with only two penalties in minutes.
