America East Men's Basketball Tournament
The America East men's basketball tournament, popularly known as the America East Playoffs, is the annual concluding tournament for the NCAA college basketball in the America East Conference. The winner of the annual tournament gains an automatic bid to the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship. Format and hosts As of 2013, the first rounds take place at a single location, usually the home arena of one of the conference schools, but the championship game is hosted the next weekend by the higher remaining seed. The 2013 and 2014 Tournament preliminary rounds were hosted by the University at Albany. Beginning in 2015, the format was changed from a single location in the first rounds to multiple locations. For every round, including the finals the higher seeded team in each game hosts. After the first round, teams are reseeded to account for upsets that may have occurred. Canisius Golden Griffins
The Canisius University Golden Griffins are composed of 16 teams representing Canisius University in intercollegiate athletics. 1984 ECAC North Men's Basketball Tournament
The 1984 ECAC North men's basketball tournament was hosted by the higher seeds in head-to-head matchups. The final was held at Matthews Arena on the campus of the Northeastern University. Northeastern gained its third overall America East Conference Championship and an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament with its win over Canisius College. Northeastern was given the 11th seed in the East Regional of the NCAA Tournament and lost in the first round against Virginia Commonwealth 70–69. Case Gym
Case Gym is a 1,800-seat multi-purpose arena at Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. It opened in 1972 as part of the Harold Case Physical Education Center, which is named after the university's fifth president, Harold C. Case. The gym is referred to as "The Roof" because it is located on the top level of the building, above Walter Brown Arena. It is home to the Boston University Terriers men's and women's basketball teams, as well as the men's wrestling team. The 1982 ECAC North men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament of the ECAC North during the 1981–82 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Cabot Center is the home of several indoor athletic teams of Northeastern University Huskies in Boston, Massachusetts. Perry Moss (basketball)
Perry Victor Moss (born November 11, 1958) is an American former National Basketball Association (NBA) basketball player. Playing career College Moss played basketball at Northeastern University under coach Jim Calhoun, where he averaged 15.2 points per game and 3.7 rebounds per game in four seasons there. In his senior season, Moss was named the America East Conference Player of the Year in 1981–82. Moss graduated as the school's second-leading career scorer with 1,722 points and a 15.2 average in 113 games. In 1982, he went head-to-head with future NBA All-Star Dominique Wilkins and the Georgia Bulldogs in the first round of the Gotten State Classic.
