Deer Valley
Deer Valley is a ski-only resort in the Wasatch Range, located east of Salt Lake City, in Park City, Utah, United States where snowboarding is prohibited. Deer Valley was one of the venues for the 2002 Winter Olympics, hosting the freestyle moguls, aerial, and alpine slalom events. It is expected to host the mogul event for the 2034 Winter Olympics but lost out on hosting the slalom event. Deer Valley also regularly hosts competitions for the International Ski Federation for moguls and aerials, but is not steep enough nor does it have long enough terrain to host events such as the GS, Super G, or Downhill. Carolina Verónica Ruiz Castillo (born 14 October 1981) is a retired World Cup alpine ski racer from Spain. Born in Osorno, Chile, she represented Spain in four Winter Olympics and eight World Championships. She moved to Spain with her parents few weeks after she was born, specifically to Sierra Nevada (Granada). Emma Carrick-Anderson (born 17 June 1975) is a Scottish former alpine skier who competed for Great Britain at the Winter Olympic Games in 1992, 1994, 1998 and 2002. Skiing career Originally from Dunblane, Carrick-Anderson began skiing at the age of two and was racing by the age of six; she spent four years attending the Austrian Ski School in Schladming. In 1992, she was named as the Scottish Skier of the Year. Carrick-Anderson made her debut at the 1992 Winter Olympics at the age of sixteen. She competed in four Olympics, six World Championships, and numerous World Cups.
