Allsvenskan is the Swedish second division in men's team handball. Earlier, the name was used by the top division. The league is organized by the Swedish Handball Federation. IFK Karlskrona are a Swedish handball club based in Karlskrona. The club was founded in 1921. They won Allsvenskan in 1944–1945. They reached the final of the Swedish championship, at the time played as a straight knockout tournament, in 1940, 1944 and 1945, but were beaten each time by Majorna Majorna () was until 2011 one of the 21 boroughs of Gothenburg Municipality. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. Lindeskolans IF Lindesberg is a Swedish handball club from Lindesberg. As of 2017–18, they play in Allsvenskan, the second highest level. In 2004–05, they finished third in Allsvenskan and qualified for promotion playoffs. They lost the series against Djurgården, but were still promoted after Kroppskultur withdrew from the top division. In 2005–06, the club made their debut in the top division, at the time known as Elitserien.
