Alisha's Attic were an English pop duo of the 1990s and early 2000s. The two members were sisters Shelly and Karen Poole, born in Barking and Chadwell Heath respectively. Their father is Brian Poole of 1960s group Brian Poole and the Tremeloes. "I Am, I Feel" is the debut single by British pop music duo Alisha's Attic, released in July 1996 by Mercury from the duo's debut album, '' Alisha Rules the World'' (1996). The song was written by sisters Karen and Shelly Poole, and produced by Dave Stewart. It quickly became a radio and chart hit in the UK, peaking at number 14 on the UK Singles Chart. Lyrically, the duo has stated that it is about "a woman rebelling against a man" in a relationship gone bad. "I Am, I Feel" was nominated in the category for Best Song Musically & Lyrically at the 1997 Ivor Novello Awards. Michelle Lena "Shelly" Poole (born 20 March 1972) is an English songwriter and singer. Career Shelly Poole is the daughter of the 1960s recording artist Brian Poole, of Brian Poole and the Tremeloes. With her sister Karen, she formed the band Alisha's Attic, and they released their debut album, '' Alisha Rules the World'', in 1996. The band secured a Brit nomination and an Ivor Novello nomination for writing the million-seller single ''I Am, I Feel,'' and two years later a Capitol Radio award for most played song for ''The Incidentals''. The Official Albums Chart is the United Kingdom's industry-recognised national record chart for album, albums. Entries are ranked by sales and audio streaming. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays).
