Alexander Povernov
Alexander Povernov (born 17 February 1978) is a German former amateur boxer who won a heavyweight bronze medal at the 2005 World Championships. Career The hard punching Povernov could win the German Championships at heavyweights with 201 lb/91 kg limit in 2000, 2004, 2005 and 2006. One of his main opponents was Stefan Köber, brother of Sebastian Köber, who beat him on points in 2003 but whom he KOd 2004. At the 2004 European Championships he lost in the first round against Kubrat Pulev. At the 2005 World Championships he lost his semi final to eventual winner Aleksandr Alekseyev and won bronze. At the 2006 European Championships he beat Clemente Russo 30:21 but lost to Roman Romanchuk and again won bronze. At the 2007 World Championships he beat Polish Krzysztof Zimnoch 18:10 but exited early against Italian surprise winner Clemente Russo 5:17. He failed to qualify for the 2008 Olympics. Clemente Russo (born 27 July 1982) is an Italian amateur boxer, best known for winning gold at the 2007 and 2013 World Amateur Boxing Championships at heavyweight (201 lbs limit). He currently boxes for the Italia Thunder team in the World Series of Boxing league. He also signed up for the AIBA professional league, the APB, which launched in autumn 2013. Personal life Russo works as a police officer. He is married to former international judo competitor Laura Maddaloni; they have a daughter. BoxRec or boxrec.com is a website dedicated to holding updated records of professional and amateur boxers, both male and female. It also maintains a MediaWiki-based encyclopaedia of boxing. The objective of the site is to document every professional boxer and boxing match from the instigation of the Queensberry Rules up to the present times. Krzysztof Zimnoch (born 6 September 1983) is a Polish professional heavyweight boxer affiliated to the Hetman Białystok Boxing Club. He holds an amateur win over former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder. Professional career Zimnoch made his professional boxing debut on 20 February 2010 against Keon Graham at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana. He won by KO in round 1. Roman Romanovich Romanchuk (russian: Роман Романович Романчук; 3 June 1979 – 8 September 2016) was a Ukrainian (until 2000) and Russian (since 2000) amateur boxer. He won silver at super heavyweight during the 2005 World Amateur Boxing Championships and helped the Russian team win the 2005 Boxing World Cup. He also had success as an amateur kickboxer. Aleksandr Vyacheslavovich Alekseyev (russian: Александр Вячеславович Алексеев, born 30 April 1981 in Tashkent, Uzbek SSR) is a professional cruiserweight boxer from Russia. Amateur Southpaw Alekseyev beat Jaroslavas Jakšto in the final of the World Military championships 2003. He won a silver medal at the 2003 World Amateur Boxing Championships at 201 lbs losing to his nemesis Odlanier Solís. Alekseyev won the gold medal in the same division at the 2004 European Amateur Boxing Championships in Pula, Croatia. The participated in the 2004 Summer Olympics. There he was narrowly defeated in the first round of the heavyweight (91 kg) division by Cuba's eventual winner Odlanier Solís.
