Aleph One
In mathematics, particularly in set theory, the aleph numbers are a sequence of numbers used to represent the cardinality (or size) of infinite sets. They were introduced by the mathematician Georg Cantor and are named after the symbol he used to denote them, the Hebrew letter aleph (ℵ). The smallest cardinality of an infinite set is that of the natural numbers, denoted by \aleph_0 (read ''aleph-nought'', ''aleph-zero'', or ''aleph-null''); the next larger cardinality of a well-ordered set is \aleph_1, then \aleph_2, then \aleph_3, and so on. Continuing in this manner, it is possible to define an infinite cardinal number \aleph_ for every ordinal number \alpha, as described below. The concept and notation are due to Georg Cantor, who defined the notion of cardinality and realized that infinite sets can have different cardinalities. The aleph numbers differ from the infinity (\infty) commonly found in algebra and calculus, in that the alephs measure the sizes of sets, while i ...

Aleph One (game Engine)
The ''Marathon Trilogy'' is a science fiction first-person shooter video game series from Bungie, originally released for the Classic Mac OS. The name of the series is derived from the giant interstellar colony ship that provides the main setting for the first game; the ship is constructed out of the Martian moon Deimos. The series is often regarded as a spiritual predecessor of Bungie's ''Halo'' series. Games The ''Marathon'' series consists of three games: *''Marathon'', released on December 21, 1994 for the Classic Mac OS. *'' Marathon 2: Durandal'', released on November 24, 1995 on Classic Mac OS. *'' Marathon Infinity'', released on October 15, 1996 on Classic Mac OS. ''Marathon 2: Durandal'' was released for Windows several months after the Mac OS release, on September 20, 1996. All three games were later ported to other operating systems and to modern versions of Windows and macOS after the game engine was open-sourced in 1999. Gameplay In the ''Marathon'' series, pla ...

Elias Levy
Elias Levy (also known as Aleph One) is a computer scientist. He was the moderator of " Bugtraq", a full disclosure vulnerability mailing list, from May 14, 1996 until October 15, 2001. He was the CTO and co-founder of the computer security company SecurityFocus, which was acquired by Symantec on August 6, 2002. He is also known as the author of the article "Smashing The Stack For Fun and Profit", published in 1996 ''Phrack'' magazine issue 49, which was the first high-quality, public, step-by-step introduction to stack buffer overflow In software, a stack buffer overflow or stack buffer overrun occurs when a program writes to a memory address on the program's call stack outside of the intended data structure, which is usually a fixed-length buffer. Stack buffer overflow bugs ... vulnerabilities and their exploitation. After the sale of SecurityFocus to Symantec in August 2002, Levy was accused by many of "selling out" and compromising the high principles of the Bugtraq ...
