The Agence de l'innovation industrielle was a French governmental agency created in 2005 to support technological projects. As of 2006, it was supporting seven projects: *BioHub, a chemistry projects to create products with cereals, without using oil *HOMES, a project of housing with ultra-low use of energy * Nanosmart, a project of substrate *Quaero, a search engine *TVMSL, a project of creating a standard of hybrid terrestrial and satellite mobile television based on DVB-H *Véhicule Automatique Léger#NeoVal, NeoVal, a small automated subway system to replace the Véhicule Automatique Léger, VAL * VHD (Hybrid diesel-electric vehicle, Hybrid Diesel Vehicle), which involves PSA Peugeot Citroën. BioHub
Chan Zuckerberg Biohub (CZ Biohub), or simply Biohub, is a nonprofit research organization. In addition to supporting and conducting original research, CZ Biohub acts as a hub and fosters science collaboration between UC Berkeley, UC San Francisco (UCSF) and Leland Stanford Jr University, Stanford. The Biohub is funded by a $600 million contribution from Meta (company), Meta CEO and founder Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan (philanthropist), Priscilla Chan. It was co-led by Stephen Quake and Joseph DeRisi from its inception in 2016 until 2022, when Quake left to become president of the Biohub Network. Quaero (Latin for ''I seek'') was a European initiative designed to compete with the Google search engine. It was announced in 2005 by Jacques Chirac and Gerhard Schröder, the political leaders of France and of Germany. As a research and development program, it had the goal of developing multimedia and multilingual indexing and management tools for professional and general public applications (such as search engines). The European Commission approved the aid granted by France on 11 March 2008. This program was supported by the OSEO. It was a French project with the participation of several German partners. DVB-H
DVB-H (digital video broadcasting - handheld) is one of three prevalent mobile TV formats. It is a technical specification for bringing broadcast services to mobile handsets. DVB-H was formally adopted as ETSI standard EN 302 304 in November 2004. The DVB-H specification (EN 302 304) can be downloaded from the official DVB-H website. For a few months from March 2008, DVB-H was officially endorsed by the European Union as the "preferred technology for terrestrial mobile broadcasting". ''Véhicule Automatique Léger'' () or VAL is a type of driverless (automated), rubber-tyred, medium-capacity rail transport system (people mover). The technology was developed at the Lille University of Science and Technology, was marketed by Matra, and first used in the early 1980s for the Lille Metro system, one of the world's first fully automated mass-transit rail networks, preceded only by the Port Island Line in Kobe, Japan. The VAL technology is now marketed by Siemens, which acquired Matra in the late 1990s. A total of 11 lines in 8 systems based on the VAL technology are currently in operation worldwide. Jean-Louis Beffa (born 11 August 1941 in Nice, France) is a French businessman. He was Chairman and CEO of Saint-Gobain from 1986 to 2007, Chairman until 2010 and is Honorary Chairman of the board of Saint-Gobain. He is a former member of the Saint-Simon Foundation and was on the boards of BNP Paribas, GDF Suez, Groupe Bruxelles Lambert, Siemens AG, Le Monde S.A., Société Editrice du Monde S.A., and Le Monde Partenaires SAS.
