Afghan Cricket Team Against Zimbabwe In The UAE In 2015–16
The Afghanistan national cricket team, Afghanistan cricket team toured the United Arab Emirates to play Zimbabwe national cricket team, Zimbabwe from 25 December 2015 to 10 January 2016. The tour consisted of five One Day Internationals (ODIs) and two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) matches. All the matches took place at the Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium. Afghanistan won the ODI series 3–2 and made the top ten of the ICC ODI Championship, ODI rankings for the first time. Afghanistan won the T20I series 2–0. Following the conclusion of the series, Afghan batsman Mohammad Shahzad entered the ICC's T20I batting rankings in eighth place. His teammate Dawlat Zadran entered the ICC's list for best bowlers in T20I cricket, also in eighth place. Asghar Afghan
Mohammad Asghar Afghan (; born Mohammad Asghar Stanikzai) is an Afghan former cricketer who had captained the Afghanistan national cricket team. Asghar is a right-handed batsman and a medium-fast bowler. In May 2018, he was named as the captain of Afghanistan, for their inaugural Test match, against India. He made his Test debut, against India, on 14 June 2018. On 2 August 2018, he changed his last name from Stanikzai to Afghan. In April 2019, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) dropped him as captain of the Afghanistan team across all three formats. However, in December 2019, the ACB reappointed Asghar Stanikzai as the captain of the Afghanistan cricket team across all formats. Mirwais Ashraf Khan () (born June 30, 1988) is an Afghan cricketer who plays for the national cricket team and has served as Chairman of the Afghanistan Cricket Board since 6 November 2021. Khan is a right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium bowler. Career Ashraf made his One Day International (ODI) debut against the Netherlands at the VRA Cricket Ground on 30 August 2009. His first-class cricket debut was against the same opponents in Afghanistan's debut match in the Intercontinental Cup, where in the Netherlands' second innings he took four wickets for 24 runs to help set up an historic Afghan win by one wicket. Sayed Shirzad (born 1 October 1994) is an Afghan cricketer. Shirzad is a right-handed batsman who bowls left-arm at a medium pace. Domestic career Shirzad represented Afghanistan Under-19s in the 2011 Under-19 World Cup Qualifier in Ireland. Samiullah Shinwari (; born 31 December 1987) is an Afghan cricketer who represents Afghanistan at the international level. He is a right-handed batsman and leg break bowler. Hashmatullah Shahidi
Hashmatullah Shahidi (; born 4 November 1994) is an Afghan cricketer and currently the captain of Afghanistan national cricket team in One Day International (ODI) and Test cricket. Rahmat Shah Zurmatai (; born 6 July 1993) is an Afghan cricketer who plays for the Afghanistan national cricket team. He is a right-handed batsman and an occasional leg break bowler. Gulbadin Naib (born 4 June 1991) is an Afghan cricketer. An all-rounder, Naib bats right-handed and bowls right-arm fast-medium. In April 2019, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) named Naib the team's new One Day International (ODI) captain ahead of the 2019 Cricket World Cup, replacing Asghar Afghan. However, following the Cricket World Cup, where Afghanistan lost all of their matches, Rashid Khan was named as the new captain of the Afghanistan cricket team across all three formats. Mohammad Nabi Eisakhil (; born 1 January 1985) is an Afghan cricketer and former captain of the Afghanistan national cricket team. Nawroz Mangal (born Nawroz Khan Mangal) (نوروز خان منګل; born 28 November 1984) is a former cricketer from Afghanistan.
