ACMAT
ACMAT (''Ateliers de Construction Mécanique de L'Atlantique'', also known as ALM-ACMAT) () is a French company that has manufactured cross-country and tactical military vehicles since 1958. Known for their reliability, simplicity, ruggedness and their 80% (over 3,500) commonality of parts across the entire product line, their vehicles were originally targeted at African and Asian countries who could not afford more expensive vehicles. The company builds their vehicles based on standardisation, parts sharing, and backward compatibility, with some vehicles using the same parts as ones made 30 years ago. This system involves cabs, structural components, engines and drive trains, which are often shared between models. ACMAT is a subsidiary of Arquus Defense, previously Renault Truck Defense, which since 22 May 2006 has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Renault Trucks. ACMAT VLRA
The ACMAT VLRA (Véhicule de Liaison de Reconnaissance et d'Appui or Liaison, Reconnaissance, and Support Vehicle), a tactical vehicle produced by ACMAT, was launched during 1967, it was characterised by its robustness. It could transport 2.5 tonnes of payload, a maximum range of 1,600 km and a water tank with a capacity of 200lt. ACMAT Bastion
The ACMAT Bastion is a modern French armoured personnel carrier, manufactured by ACMAT. The Bastion was available to customers in North America and Oceania via Mack Trucks, Mack Defense. As of 2021, AM General is making the Bastion. Design Its chassis is based on the ACMAT VLRA. In 2018, Arquus, owner of ACMAT, signed a contract with AM General to propose the Bastion as an armored ambulance for the U.S. Army. The is a nameplate used for Nissan pickup trucks with D21, D22, D40 and D23 model codes. The nameplate has been used in Australia, New Zealand, Central America, South America, Asia, Europe, and South Africa.
