Abu Road
Abu Road is a city and sub-district in Sirohi district of Rajasthan state in western India, lies on the bank of West Banas River. It is the tehsil and sub-district headquarters and the largest city in Sirohi District in terms of area and population. Its railway station is an important stop on the main Indian Railways line between New Delhi and Ahmedabad and registers an impressive growth in passenger traffic and revenue generation for North Western Railway zone. Mount Abu
Mount Abu (), known as Arbudgiri in Jain tradition, is a hill station in the Aravalli Range in the Sirohi district of the state of Rajasthan in western India. Here, the mountain forms a rocky plateau 22 km long by 9 km wide. It is referred to as 'an oasis in the desert' as its heights are home to rivers, lakes, waterfalls and evergreen forests. A () is a teknonym in an Arabic name, the name of an adult derived from their eldest son. A kunya is used as a component of an Arabic name, a type of epithet. Abu Baker Asvat () (23 February 1943 – 27 January 1989), also known as Abu Asvat or Abu nicknamed ''Hurley'' was a South African medical doctor who practised in Soweto in the 1970s and 1980s. A founding member of Azapo, Asvat was the head of its health secretariat, and involved in initiatives aimed at improving the health of rural black South Africans during Apartheid. In 1989, Asvat was shot dead in his clinic, and he died in the arms of his nurse, Albertina Sisulu. Abu (volcano)
is the name of a group of shield volcanoes located on the coast of Japan on the southwest end of the island of Honshū. It is primarily based in the city of Hagi, Yamaguchi Prefecture. The group dates from 800,000 years ago and was active into the Holocene era. The last eruption occurred around 9000 years ago. The group of volcanoes consists of basalt and dacitic lava flows, small shield volcanoes, cinder cones, and lava domes. Altogether, there are about 40 volcanoes, with the highest peak being Irao-yama. Volcanic activity in the region is related to subduction of the Philippine Sea Plate. The erupted magmas of Abu are mainly alkaline basalt and calc-alkaline andesite - dacite in composition.
