Abdul Sattar (Maharashtra Politician)
Abdul Sattar Abdul Nabi is an Indian politician from Maharashtra. He was briefly a minister in 2014 in the Congress government in Maharashtra. In 2019 he left Congress and joined Shiv Sena. He is a three term Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from the Sillod constituency. He served as the state's Cabinet Minister for Animal Husbandry. Political career Early career In 1984, Sattar successfully contested the Grampanchayat elections. He entered Taluka politics in 1994–95, becoming the Mayor (Nagaradhyaksha) of Sillod city on 5 March 1994. He approached Congress in 1999 to become a candidate for the Legislative Assembly elections, but was unsuccessful. He stood as an independent and finished second. He was elected as the MLC of Sillod in 2001. After his term ended as MLA, Abdul Sattar contested the legislative assembly elections of 2004, losing by 301 votes. Eknath Shinde Ministry
Eknath Shinde was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra on 30 June 2022, on resignation of his predecessor Uddhav Thackeray. Shinde leads a government consisting of Shiv Sena, the NCP and the BJP. Formation After the 2019 Maharashtra elections, Shiv Sena broke its pre-poll alliance with BJP. Instead, it formed a government with NCP and Congress. Uddhav Thackeray became the Chief Minister, and Shinde was the public works and urban development minister. In June 2022, alongside several Shiv Sena legislators, Shinde withdrew from the Thackeray government. Amidst a political crisis, Thackeray resigned. Shiv Sena
Shiv Sena (1966–2022) (; ; SS) was a right-wing Marathi regionalist Hindutva-based political party in India founded in 1966 by Bal Thackeray, who was later succeeded by Uddhav Thackeray. The party is split into two parties: the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) which has a new symbol of ''Mashaal'' (Torch) and Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena (2022–present) which has gotten hold of the original party name and the "bow and arrow" symbol. Initially apolitical, the organisation was patronised by the then Chief Minister Vasantrao Naik who used it for curbing trade unions and maintain stranglehold of the Congress.
