''A New Career in a New Town (1977–1982)'' is a box set by English singer-songwriter David Bowie, released on 29 September 2017. A follow-up to the compilations ''Five Years (1969–1973)'' and ''Who Can I Be Now? (1974–1976)'', the set covers Bowie's career from 1977 to 1982, including his "Berlin Trilogy", over eleven compact discs or thirteen LPs. David Bowie
David Robert Jones (8 January 194710 January 2016), known as David Bowie ( ), was an English singer, songwriter and actor. ''Under the Radar'' is an American music magazine that features interviews with accompanying photo-shoots. Each issue includes opinion and commentary of the indie music scene as well as reviews of books, DVDs, and albums. The magazine posts web-exclusive interviews and reviews on its website. Items are reviewed based on a rating system in which each album, book, and DVD receives a rating from 1 to 10. The magazine has been in publication since late 2001 and is issued three times per year. The magazine was founded by co-publishers (and husband and wife) Mark Redfern and Wendy Lynch Redfern, who currently run the magazine. ''Stage'' is the second live album by the English musician David Bowie, recorded on the Isolar II Tour, and released through RCA Records in 1978. ''Stage'' has been reissued numerous times, each with expanded track listings. Recording The recording was culled from concerts in Philadelphia, Providence, and Boston, US, in late April and early May 1978. ''Low'' is the eleventh studio album by the English musician David Bowie, released on 14 January 1977 through RCA Records. The first of three collaborations with the producer Tony Visconti and the musician Brian Eno that became known as the Berlin Trilogy, the project originated following Bowie's move to France in 1976 with his friend Iggy Pop to rid themselves of their drug addictions. ''Baal'' is an Extended play, EP by the English musician David Bowie, comprising recordings of songs written for Bertolt Brecht’s play ''Baal (play), Baal''. It is sometimes referred to as ''David Bowie in Bertolt Brecht's Baal'', as credited on the sleeve. The EP was Bowie's final release of new material for RCA Records; he signed with EMI Records for his next album. Anthony Edward Visconti (born April 24, 1944) is an American record producer, musician and singer. Since the late 1960s, he has worked with an array of performers. His first hit single was T. Rex's " Ride a White Swan" in 1970, the first of many hits in collaboration with Marc Bolan. Visconti's lengthiest involvement was with David Bowie: intermittently from the production and arrangement of Bowie's 1968 single "In the Heat of the Morning" / "London Bye Ta-Ta" to his final album '' Blackstar'' in 2016, Visconti produced and occasionally performed on many of Bowie's albums. ''Lodger'' is the thirteenth studio album by the English musician David Bowie, released on 25 May 1979 through RCA Records. Recorded in collaboration with the musician Brian Eno and the producer Tony Visconti, it was the final release of his Berlin Trilogy, following ''Low (David Bowie album), Low'' and ''"Heroes" (David Bowie album), "Heroes"'' (both 1977). Sessions took place in Switzerland in September 1978 during a break in the Isolar II – The 1978 World Tour, Isolar II world tour, and in New York City in March 1979 at the tour's end. "Heroes" (David Bowie Song)
"Heroes" is a song by the English musician David Bowie from his 12th studio album of the same name. Co-written by Bowie and Brian Eno and co-produced by Bowie and Tony Visconti, the song was recorded in mid-1977 at Hansa Studio 2 in West Berlin. The backing track was recorded fully before lyrics were written; Bowie and Eno added synthesiser overdubs while Robert Fripp contributed guitar. To record the vocal, Visconti devised a "multi-latch" system, wherein three microphones were placed at different distances from Bowie and would open when he sang loud enough. As with other album tracks, he improvised lyrics while standing at the microphone. The Berlin Trilogy consists of three studio albums by English musician David Bowie: '' Low'', '' "Heroes"'' (both 1977) and '' Lodger'' (1979). Bowie recorded the albums in collaboration with English musician Brian Eno and American producer Tony Visconti.
