A Midsummer Night's Dream (1999 Film)
''A Midsummer Night's Dream'' is a 1999 fantasy romantic comedy film written, produced, and directed by Michael Hoffman, based on the 1600 play of the same name by William Shakespeare. Michael Hoffman (director)
Michael Lynn Hoffman (Hawaii, November 30, 1956) is an American film director. Early life and education Hoffman was born in Hawaii: the son of Dorothy (Harper) and Glenn R. Hoffman, who was stationed in the navy in Hawaii at the time. He grew up in Payette, Idaho, played basketball, and attended college at Boise State University. There he was elected as student body president of BSU. He cofounded The Idaho Shakespeare Festival with Doug Copsey and Victoria Holloway in 1977. While at BSU, he served as president of the student body and earned the high honor of Rhodes Scholar in 1979, the first BSU alumnus to achieve this honor. Demetrius is one of the lovers in William Shakespeare's play ''A Midsummer Night's Dream''. He is a young man who is engaged to a young woman, Hermia, who is in love with Lysander. Egeus is a character in ''A Midsummer Night's Dream'', the comedy by William Shakespeare. He is an Athenian who tries to keep his daughter, Hermia, from marrying Lysander (the man she loves). In original performances, the actor for his role probably played the part of Philostrate as well. Egeus wants Hermia to marry Demetrius. Theseus
Theseus (, ; ) was a divine hero in Greek mythology, famous for slaying the Minotaur.
