AVC Women's Volleyball Nations Cup
The AVC Women's Volleyball Nations Cup (previously known as the AVC Women's Challenge Cup), is an annual international volleyball competition in Asia and Oceania contested by the senior women's national teams of the members of Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), the sport's continent governing body. From 2023 to 2024, the winner will qualify for the FIVB Challenger Cup. This event should not be confused with the other, more prestigious continental competition for Asian national women's volleyball teams, the Asian Volleyball Championship and Asian Volleyball Cup. 2018 AVC Women's Challenge Cup
The 2018 AVC Women's Challenge Cup was supposed to be the inaugural edition of the AVC Women's Challenge Cup, a biennial international volleyball tournament organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), in that year with the Volleyball Association of Hong Kong, China. But due to unforeseen reasons the tournament was not held. Participating teams The tournament was open to AVC member associations ranked 11th and below or that did not participate in the 2017 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship. Priority was given to teams that took part in the championship, then to the highest-ranked non-participating teams. The host could admit up to ten teams. Southeast Asian Volleyball Association
The Southeast Asian Volleyball Association (SAVA) is one of five zonal associations of governance in volleyball within the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC). It governs indoor volleyball and beach volleyball in Southeast Asia. SAVA consists of 11 national federation members which are full members with the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). All of them also represent the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of their respective countries and dependent territories, allowing them to participate in the Olympic Games. The 2025 AVC Women's Volleyball Nations Cup was the first of the newly rebranded AVC Women's Volleyball Nations Cup, and sixth overall edition of the formerly known AVC Women's Challenge Cup, an annual international volleyball tournament organized by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Volleyball Federation of Vietnam (VFV). It was held from 7 to 14 June 2025 in Hanoi, Vietnam. Nakhon Pathom (, ) is a city (''thesaban nakhon'') in central Thailand, the former capital of Nakhon Pathom province. One of the most important landmarks is the giant Phra Pathommachedi. FIVB Senior World Rankings
The FIVB Senior World Rankings is a ranking system for men's and women's national teams in volleyball. The teams of the member nations of Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), volleyball's world governing body, are ranked based on their game results with the most successful teams being ranked highest. A points system is used, with points being awarded based on the results of all FIVB-recognised full international matches. The rankings are used in international competitions to define the seeded teams and arrange them in pools. Specific procedures for seeding and pooling are established by the FIVB in each competition's formula, but the method usually employed is the serpentine system. The ranking system has been revamped in 2020, responding to criticism that the preceding calculation method did not effectively reflect the relative strengths of the national teams. FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League
The FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League is an international volleyball competition contested by the senior women's national teams of the members of the ' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The first tournament took place between May and July 2018, with the final taking place in Nanjing, China. United States won the inaugural edition, defeating Turkey in the final. In July 2018, the FIVB announced that China would host the next three editions of the women's Volleyball Nations League Finals, from 2019–2021, but on March 13, 2020, the Federation decided to postpone the Nations League until after the 2020 Summer Olympics due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
