ATV (Peruvian TV Channel)
ATV (known as Andina de Televisión) is a Peruvian television network founded in 1959 and relaunched in 1983. The network is the flagship property of Grupo ATV, one of Peru's largest media and broadcasting companies. History What is known today as ATV started in 1959 as Canal 9 El Sol with Alfonso Pereyra as its first manager. El Sol also had relay stations in Huacho on channel 7 and Ica, Peru, Ica on channel 11. After unsuccessful attempts to run it in the early 1970s and subsequent political turmoil in Peru, the station was closed; however, it became a TV Perú local station for the capital area. By 1981, the channel was under new leadership. Carlos Tizón Pacheco, who financed the 1980 presidential campaign of President Fernando Belaúnde Terry, and then-president of local auto firm PROMASA, took over the channel frequency with his firm Andina de Radiodifusión, S.A., with test broadcasting commencing on May 9 the same year. ''Hunter'' is an American crime drama television series created by Frank Lupo that ran on NBC from September 18, 1984, to April 26, 1991. It stars Fred Dryer as Sergeant Rick Hunter and Stepfanie Kramer as Sergeant Dee Dee McCall, and Charles Hallahan as Captain Charles "Charlie" Devane. The title character Sgt. ATV Sur is a Peruvian over-the-air television channel, owned by the Grupo ATV. It was launched in its current form on November 10, 2011, and broadcasts from Arequipa to the south of the country via over-the-air signals and as a national subscription television channel. It is the first television station outside of Lima to broadcast its signal via satellite.
