A. J. Simcox
Austin Jay Simcox (born June 22, 1994) is an American former professional baseball shortstop. Previously, he played college baseball for the Tennessee Volunteers for the University of Tennessee. He was drafted in the 14th round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft by the Detroit Tigers. Career Simcox attended Farragut High School in Knoxville, Tennessee. He played for the school's baseball team as a shortstop and pitcher, but a back injury prevented him from pitching in his sophomore year. The Colorado Rockies selected Simcox in the 32nd round, with the 978th overall selection, of the 2012 Major League Baseball (MLB) draft. He opted not to sign, and enrolled at the University of Tennessee to play college baseball for the Tennessee Volunteers. After his sophomore season in 2014, he played collegiate summer baseball for the Yarmouth–Dennis Red Sox of the Cape Cod Baseball League, where he batted .224 in 48 games, and helped lead the Red Sox to the league championship. Mat-Su Miners
The Mat-Su Miners are a Collegiate summer baseball, college summer baseball club in the Alaska Baseball League (ABL). The Miners are based in Palmer, Alaska, and their name refers to the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Alaska, Matanuska-Susitna Borough where Palmer is located. The team was founded in 1976 and play their home games at Hermon Brothers Field. The franchise began play as the fourth Alaska-based team of the Alaska Baseball League, ABL along with the Alaska Goldpanners of Fairbanks, Fairbanks Goldpanners, Anchorage Glacier Pilots and the Peninsula Oilers for the 1976 in baseball, 1976 season. The Florida Complex League Tigers are a Rookie-level affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, competing in the Florida Complex League of Minor League Baseball. The Erie SeaWolves are an American professional baseball team based in Erie, Pennsylvania. They compete in Minor League Baseball (MiLB) as a member of the Eastern League's Southwest Division, serving as the Double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. Florida State League
The Florida State League (FSL) is a Minor League Baseball league based in the state of Florida. Having been classified at various levels throughout its existence, it operated at Class A-Advanced from 1990 until its demotion to Single-A following Major League Baseball's 2021 reorganization of the minor leagues. Lakeland Flying Tigers
The Lakeland Flying Tigers are a Minor League Baseball team of the Florida State League and the Single-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. They are located in Lakeland, Florida, and play their home games at Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium. History The team was established in 1960 as the Lakeland Indians, an affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. The Midwest League is a Minor League Baseball league established in 1947 and based in the Midwestern United States. A Class A league for most of its history, the league was promoted to High-A as part of Major League Baseball's 2021 reorganization of the minor leagues. The West Michigan Whitecaps are a Minor League Baseball team of the Midwest League and the High-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. They are located in Comstock Park, Michigan, a suburb of Grand Rapids, and play their home games at LMCU Ballpark. Class A Short Season (officially Short-Season A) was a level of play in Minor League Baseball in the United States from 1965 through 2020. In the hierarchy of minor league classifications, it was below Triple-A, Double-A, Class A-Advanced (created in 1990), and Class A. Teams in Class A Short Season played about 75 to 80 games per season, compared to the 130- to 140-game seasons of most professional baseball minor leagues.
