4th Aviation Division (People's Republic Of China)
The 4th Aviation Division is a formation of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). Initially established in 1950, it served in Korea under Commander Fang Ziyi and Commissar Ye Songsheng, flying Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15s. It ended its third combat tour in July 1953.. It was soon redesignated the 1st Fighter Division. The division was reestablished in 1956. It was headquartered this time at Liaoyang, Liaoning Province, in the Shenyang Military Region. The 4th Fighter Division was believed to be equipped with the Chengdu J-7E fighter aircraft. The 4th Fighter Division comprised the 10th Regiment and the 12th Regiment. Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15
The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 (; USAF/DoD designation: Type 14; NATO reporting name: Fagot) is a jet fighter aircraft developed by Mikoyan-Gurevich for the Soviet Union. The MiG-15 was one of the first successful jet fighters to incorporate swept wings to achieve high transonic speeds. The 1st Fighter Brigade (1st BDE, Chinese: 第1航空旅; pinyin: ''Dì 1 hángkōng lǚ''), sometimes called 1st Air Brigade, previously 1st Fighter Division, is a fighter aircraft unit of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) based at Xianyang in Shaanxi province. Shenyang Military Region
The Shenyang Military Region was one of seven military regions for the Chinese People's Liberation Army. It has command and control of military and armed police forces in the three northeast provinces of Jilin, Heilongjiang, and Liaoning, which also form Military Districts. This region is now superseded by the Northern Theater Command. The Shenyang Military Region was left with unchanged boundaries since the late 1960s. It is bordered internally by the Beijing Military Region to the west. Externally, it is bordered by North Korea to the south east and the Russian Far East to the north. Prior to the Cultural Revolution, military region commanders tended to remain in post for long periods. Xi'an Y-7
The Xi'an Y-7 () is a twin turboprop transport/passenger aircraft built in China. It is based on the Soviet-designed Antonov An-24 series. Development China imported the Antonov An-24 from early in its production run and also negotiated licenses for production of the aircraft and its engines. In 1966, Xi'an aircraft factory started the project of local production of An-24. The first Chinese-assembled An-24T had its maiden flight on 25 December 1970. Xi'an Y-20
The Xi'an Y-20 Kunpeng () is a large military transport aircraft that was developed by the Xi'an Aircraft Industrial Corporation for the People's Republic of China (PRC). While the official series name of the aircraft is '' Kunpeng'', a mythical giant fish-bird from the Taoist classic '' Zhuangzi'', it is nicknamed "Chubby Girl" () in the Chinese aviation industry because its fuselage is much wider than aircraft previously developed in China.
